Title: warhammer historical Great War Rules
Post by: raykey on 12 December 2013, 12:29:57 PM
Seasons greetings to one and all
Don't know where I read it but some one was using the above rules in 10mm scale as against the recommended 28mm. Just wondered what peoples thoughts
were on a few things
1. do you use the recommended ranges for weapons ie inches, which does give a more representative distance for rifles etc, or do you convert to cms
2. the orbats give companies in single figures e.g. a german assault company equates  to an officer and 32 figures, using 3x10mm figures per base and each base is equal to one figure this gives a company at 10mm  would be 99 figures on 11 bases does this sound about right visually
3. same with mgs, artillery, tanks etc
and lastly should the burst circles be reduced or left the same
cheers for any input
Ray :)

Surely thats a typo shouldnt it be 99 figs on 33 bases, now that would look like a company.

Firstly having played the rules I have to say I dont like them but....

I would go with 3 figure per base as you suggest  and treat one base as equivalent to a single figure

Converting  from inches to cm would depend on table size...For a quick game I would stick with inches...I would be tempted to keep the blast  templates the same size as well as artillery should be nasty

Didn't change the ranges for my 10mm stuff.  And if I remember correctly the rules actually state that each fig equaled 3 or 4 actual soldiers.
