I have some figures that I need to replace the flag poles on because of breakages, any suggestions for what to use, 10mm Pendraken figures of course
TIA
Steel or brass rod is most robust and is easily cut with a good pair of electricians' snips. Plastic rod is obviously more bendy and and easier to cut but you might have problems getting it to bond to metal.
thanks :)
I use .6mm drill to drill into the hand as that adds better glueing area. 5mm is available from most model shops, or florests wire works well, but recently several people told me they used 30 gauge fishing line. Its thick, strong and also flexible.
5mm diameter is that not rather large ? for 10mm figures, or did you mean 0.5mm
;D ;D ;D ;D
Yep....I think Will means 'wot you sed'.......0.5mm ;)

fishing line is good (I use it for 10mm scale cigarettes ;))
for spare banner poles I normally sacrifice some spare standard bearer or pikeman
I've use thin dress-maker's pins. I have them point up. OK, it's a bit cruel and pre-health-&-safety but it ensures other players don't squash your figures. Well, not more than once.
Drat, meant 0.5"

Wow - a flagpole as wide as a figure is tall (or a bit wider ...)
:)

From 5mm to 12.70mm, you must have some mighty big flags Will :o :-\ ;).
Where did that " come from. .5mm?
Maybe...
Or was it .5m or .5km or .5Miles
No, it was .5 spans
Several years ago I bought a yard brush head with monofilament bristles, since then it has provided hundreds of standard poles and pikes. Being plastic it bends and gives rather than snaps, so it is rare that I ever have to replace a standard or pike. With monofilament it is easy to form finials by crushing the head and trimming to shape with scissors. The brush still has thousands of filaments left and so was definitely a good buy!
That's a damn fine idea !!
