I was just browsing the online store for some static grass as my own bags are in storage and to my dismay I see that Pendraken are no longer stocking these items. :o
Is this permanent?
Pendraken has been a one-stop shop for me since I discovered 10mm, I've had grass, bases, figs, glue and paints arrive in the same package, one order gave everything I needed to complete a project.
Hope these appear in the store again, it'd be a shame to lose them from the order list forever.

Leon said they had supply problems a few weeks ago. Maybe minibits? ;)
Try Timecast, they used the same supplier
Unfortunately the supplier wouldn't supply me with the full range of colours any more, only one or two of them were available to me, so it wasn't worth it for just a couple of varieties.
They still supply TimeCast though, so you could try there.
That's a great shame.
Leon if I may be so bold as to enquire..what reason did they give?, their limiting grass types available without a reason seems to suggest they're looking for a cop out.
Am I alone in thinking that sustained pressure from Pendraken forum members could make the supplier change their minds?
I'd be up for sending them a request to re-initiate supply, it seems a dead end business decision to cut off Pendraken with the excuse that they can't supply every type.
The static grass I've ordered has been cheap but of high quality, maybe the supplier wants a higher margin?, if this results in higher costs to us the consumer then I'd be willing to pay more if it's available through Pendraken, what do other forum members think?.

The supplier was wanting to streamline his business and concentrate his time on things which brought the most revenue in, which is understandable. I don't know if he bought the grass in already mixed, or whether he had to mix the colours himself, which was where his time was being eaten up maybe. He stills supplies several other wargames companies though.
Is one of them located in Nottingham by chance?
I have no idea of the industry but can you find another supplier?
It was me who started the other static grass thread a while ago.
I had the same problem. Soooo i ended up buying 3 more bags at crisis a few weeks ago.
It wasn't the colour i ordered before, but same as you i like the quality and think it's great stuff! I'll be using the new colour for a different period so the difference doesn't show on the table ;)
Am going to try one base with mixed colours though, maybe that works out too!
I've done my research and found a manufacturer who can supply me with a large variety of colours and lengths. The only downside is that they only come in bags of one colour, so I would need to mix them myself to make similar shades and varieties to what I had previously. It's definitely something I want to do, but it's a time-consuming and labour intensive project which requires more spare time on my part.

Since we know the GCHQ montitors everything (Hello chaps!) I think it judicious to affirm that we are talking about a fibre used in modelling and on wargames figures to replicate the look of grass appropriate to the scale of the figure. We are not talking about any other herbage that may or may not have some medical and theraputic properties.
Thank you.
(Just saved Leon the indignity of being raided and led away by the gentlemen in blue with only an Xbox controller to maintain his dignity.)
Good of you to weedthat one out FSN
