Title: Getting things in perspective.
Post by: Techno on 12 November 2013, 09:04:40 AM
A valuable lesson for me yesterday.

I had a so called 'rubbish' day on Monday....Plans going out of the window.....What seemed like constant silly running up and down stairs interruptions....Failing to get some 'chores' that I'd set myself to do done, after work.
Extra unexpected chores involving trying to fix the electrics in the barn.....(I half succeeded .....Got the power back...But no lights).....Losing the 'net' for six to seven hours (So I couldn't check on a wiring diagram for the new switch I'd bought.....It's rather odd !).......Having to bring the three 'outside' horses in, in the total dark because by that stage we were running really late....The gees didn't like this and mucked about as we were having to wave torches about.

So by the time we got back in, I was cold, wet, tired and really 'teed' off.....Couldn't truly be bothered with food, and just made do with a baked potato.

Switched on the News.....And then realized/remembered....The above simply pale into complete and total insignificance with all the other problems so many folk have got at the moment.

I felt completely ashamed. :-[ :-[ :-[.....Got food, warmth and somewhere nice to sleep out of the cold.

Cheers - Phil

Talking to a friend at work yesterday who had good news from Tacloban after days of waiting, "all eleven of their family members are alive". Their houses are totally destroyed and all pocessions lost but all alive....
