Post by: maciek on 29 June 2010, 07:29:04 AM
Hi all, let's continue our neverending WSS quiz.
I've just finished a regiment of gray-clad little fellows.

But, who the hell are they ?

Macieck,

These beauties look to be the Prussian Lieb Regiment of Dragoons also know as Wreech's Dragoons in 1704.

Am I the only one playing this game?

I could tell you which codes they are in the catalogue, but that's about it!

Excellent painting as always.

I hope, no, but you are simply the best.   ;)

They are actually compiled from at 3 or four packs, and kettle drumms are made by me.  8)

Anyway, I'm glad to announce, that after four rounds of our neverending WSS quiz, Grenadier is on the lead with 3 points, followed by Clibinarium with only one point.
I hope, I'll magage to prepare something for next week quiz.
Cheers.

I really like the drums, Maciek.  I have a question. You have mentioned using modified Polemos rules, but why do you use but 8 figs for your battalions? I would think that utilizing 10mm figs, 18-24 per unit would be very nice, even using the Polemos single bases. Is it simply a lack of gaming space?
I am awaiting delivery on a bunch of rule sets to pour over in my quest for the"great" WSS/GNW gaming experience, I will let all know "my" view on the matter.

Grenadier, it's rather question of lack of time. I'm doing WSS as well as ACW with Pawel Chrzanowski only. Both periods require large armies to play big battles, as we are not interested in small actions. I'm very busy at work (owning my small civil engineering design offce) and married recently  :D, so I can spend only one evening every week doing my hobby. To give you an example - I planned to post "WSS quiz" every two weeks, and now two regiments await final brush touches, but during last month I couldn't find time to finish them.
Considering than several years ago, I've done WSS in 1:72 plastic in 1:150 ratio (one battalion composed of 4 figures), I think doing it as 8 figs. per battalion, with flag and musician in every unit is real step forward.
