Will that include chimneys etc?
Looks great, just a bit of variety on the Windows and their placement will go a long long way. :)

They look good to me. The only thing missing that I can spot are the chimneys. Not difficult to add, I guess, but it would be better if they could be included - if only as an add-on bulk pack.  :-\

I think they look nice and 5 for £12 is a good price. I'd agree with the comments about chimneys, but then I've got a lot of card building and never bothered adding chimneys to them either.

The floor inserts - as the buildings include bases, I'm figuring the inserts are to represent the 1st floor - if so, how are they supported inside?

One of the problems I have with 10mm buildings is they're too small to move figures around inside, and none of mine (all paper folded types) have an upper floor.

they are the same dimension as the internal size of the building so you just slide them to were you want them inside and apply glue and the thickness of the wood is enough to keep it there

its big enough to fit bases up to around 30mmx40mm

Ill add chimneys soon when I get a free moment to design them, if I can squeeze them onto the same piece of wood as the buildings there won't be any extra charge

Hmm... If the buildings were made with removable roofs, plus good solid location blocks to lift the whole thing off the base, you could use both ground & 1st floor.

Fiddly, though...

Some interesting stuff there.  You've some way to go to begin to touch 4Ground's quality though.

Is Pendraken considering stocking these or are you just using their forum to run your sales?

But 4 Ground ignores 10mm! >:(
Title: Re: wargame-model-mods
Post by: Hertsblue on 07 November 2013, 04:16:17 PM
How about converting some of the houses into shops? Shouldn't be too much of a redesign.

As for 4Ground, it's a lot easier to get detail onto bigger models, surely?
Title: Re: wargame-model-mods
Post by: Wulf on 07 November 2013, 04:32:37 PM
Could be doing with just a touch more detail around doors & windows, mind you. There's no door frame and no indication of a window sill.

If their 15mm stuff is nearer 10mm that makes them quite expensive (IMHO, others may have a different view).

I like them.

On the fantasy tower - would the 'fins' be better a bit thicker? And I'm not sure about the circles on the roof - they make it look a bit like a helicopter landing pad.

But overall it looks great - how tall is it?

yes a point could be added to it it would be the same as the sides a series of flat pannels to make the cone
it would be one fat rocket

So i was looking at white dwarf and there was this neuron flyer, see image

http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3060022a_2xl.jpg

i was looking at the hexagons and the flames and thinking about how they did it. As i wanted to replicate it on my models

and i had an idea while i was thinking about it, air brush templates. I could laser cut them in 2mm mdf so anyone can paint this without having to cut out hexagons from a printed template.

I kept thinking about this and i am coming up with a range of spray paint/ air brush templates for war gamers to use

starting with hexagons and a few other simple shapes to test the market.
What do you think is anyone interested in this?
Title: Re: wargame-model-mods

Like these ones: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1828606900/ttcombat-presents-snappy-stencils (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1828606900/ttcombat-presents-snappy-stencils)

Those guys seem to have done quite well with them, but I think the rigidity of the MDF spoils the effect on curved surfaces.  Both Critical Mass Games and Anarchy Models do similar products in vinyl or cardboard I think, which has the benefit of being pliable, and you can fit it to the model snugly before spraying.

Post by: Wargame Model Mods on 19 December 2013, 03:32:55 PM
Yes someone else had pointed the kick starter out to me, should of done some research first oh well, will just have some competition i was thinking the same about not being able to curve it. Got some flexible stuff to try it on
Title: Re: wargame-model-mods
Post by: Leon on 19 December 2013, 03:53:28 PM
There must be a market for them, the amount of money those guys have generated shows people like the idea.  It's a very simple concept as well, and easy to manufacture on the machine.

So here are the first few template ideas
Of course there are some hexagons and a bunch of random ones (some need a bit of work)

no back wall or roof. i dont put roof's or back walls on my open buildings its to make it easier to get you hands and arms in to move troops about

if you wanted one with a back wall and roof them it can be arranged.

In 10mm I'd certainly want a building, not just bits of one. They'd fit easily in the middle of the table. Same with the industrial/city buildings - although they look like you could exchange bits.
