Title: Bell 47 Micro Machine helicopter in N scale
Post by: Sunray on 29 October 2013, 04:15:54 AM
In a weekend car boot sale I acquired a small plastic model from Micro Machines of the Bell 47 - The scale is "around" N Gauge - that is somewhere between 1/148- 1/160 . - probably slightly smaller than true 10mm

The detail on the model is exceptional - MASH style carriers for wounded and a clear Perspex  cockpit .

Ideal for 1950s/early 60s war games- has anyone come across this model?

According to Wikipedia, Micro Machines is now part of Hasbro. There are quite a few available on eBay at prices ranging from $5 to $17.99.

This is what it looks like:

Yes, thanks Hertsblue - that's the one.  Its obviously build for the toy market, but at the smaller range of N scale it fits well with Pendraken.

I got it in a bag of plastics for £2.

The Army Air Corps  had the Westland Sioux version well into the late 70s.
