Post by: barbarian on 27 October 2013, 03:50:06 PM
Here, I will post my armies for gaming in the 3rd age of the Middle Earth, based on historical minis by Pendraken.

All Late Romans : The Rohirim on the left (I didn't choose if it is Eomer, or Theoden or someone else yet...) is the upper part of one of the characters pack, awfully butchered, then glued on the legs and horses of one of the Clibanarium. I resculpted a new cape.
The Legolas is an archer on horse, with hat trimed down, and hair, ears, cape, chest armour, wrist and tibias armour (both on the elf and on the horse) sculpted. I made the bow longer too.
I made Saruman with the miniature of Merlin (I'll need another one to do Gandalf).
I added long hairs on the mini with the mask, in order to simulate Eowyn when she's dressed as a man. (not painted yet)

Lurtz (I know he doesn't exist, so let's call him a Generic Uruk Captain)

Thrydan of the wolves

I'll add the grass at the same time of the rest of the armies.

I already have.
Kind of.

I use historical minis for the troops.
88 medieval and Norses for Uruk.
56 Crossbowmen for Uruk with Crossbow.
64 Vickings for Dulendings.

I'm sculpting the orks on Wargs now.

For the Rohan, it is straight forward : Late Romans by Clib.

Fantastic work, you must have a keen eye and steady hand to get the detail on such snall figures. I struggle with 15mm even using a magnifying lamp  :-[
