Has anyone tried these yet?

And if so are they any good?

Cheers

Hi Guys

I have the 'Colours and guns' rules but I haven't played as I as yet have no finished 10mm Napoleonic forces. The rules seem competent and complete on a read through - although real utility can only really be judged after a game! However, I find them for some undefinable reason rather uninspiring!

Bases are 30mm wide by 20mm deep. The basic infantry unit is 6 bases of 6-8 figures in 2 ranks. Cavalry units are 4 bases with 3 figures per base. Guns are 1 based gun = 'a section', that's 2 'real' guns, I think?!

I'm sure that I can answer specific queries if you have them.

Cheers

Jules

Hi

I'm starting this game too with some fellows in Belgium.  Never play yet (I have a lot of painting job before) but I'll try to make a battle report of the first try!

I'd like to know what people think of the Quick March Attack work-in-progress rules:

No I was on my way to Ieper and stayed overnight there near where they were playing...I was tempted but had to eat and an early night for an early start  the  next morning, though If I spoke French or Flemish I would have stayed and try to find a job in the area

I have the full version of March Attack - I like what they have to offer, but as I don't have enough figures to play a game, I have yet to try them out on the gaming table.

Thancks for the warm welcome !

I'm from Liège (the french speaking part)..  Right now I got a bunch of warmaster (GW) armies (http://bellumleodium.blogspot.be/p/rap.html).

But I want to explore new era, that's why I'm getting into the napo with some fellows

Don't speak French in Ieper. You will get lousy service. Much better to stick to English in the Ypres (Ieper) salient.

Hi Guilz!

First up, let me say that I hope you get as much fun, information and inspiration from the forum as I have.

Secondly, love the Warmaster armies!! Beautiful stuff.

Warmaster ... yet another set of armies I have to finish painting :(  Or start painting in the case of my Lizardmen!

Yes soon learnt that on my first ever visit...also saw the Bundwehr being refused service in every cafe and restaurant in the market square when they were over cleaning Langemark cemetery

Hi Guilz, welcome.

Missed the link to your WM armies - they are very nice looking - and you have a lot of armies!

In the Araby photos are the sort of obelisk buildings scratch built or bought? They look handy for blocking line of sight in the desert. I also like the clumps of palm trees, might have to steal that idea.

Have you found a use for the Araby market stall in a game, or is it just decorative?

thancks!  :)

It's all from scratch, for the building I use goat cheese box: https://www.laguildeculinaire.com/files/forum/images_fromages/2011-06-fromage-du-mois-chavroux.jpg  :P

The palm tree it's cake decoration (you find it on ebay, it's very cheap, 500 for a few coins)

I got a huge undead army WIP...  but i'm so in napo right now that they will rest in their graves for a bit longer  ;D

Thanks for the pointer to the cheese container, I'll keep an eye out for that style next time we are in a supermarket!

I'll also have a look on eBay for Palm trees.

Are you still playing WM? Our group has huge WM armies, but have moved away from the rules themselves over the last few years.

I'll see if I can get it on the shopping order.

Though it may be a strange conversation.

Me: How about some goats cheese?
Wife: this one looks ok / good price
Me: how about that one with the goat?
Wife: why that one?
Me: well, it would make a great pyramid...

The reality is she is probably well used to this type of nonsense already.
