Looking for pics of SV38 (Russian 2.5 tonne truck) and SV52 (ZIS 6 truck with tilt) can anyone oblige?
This is the ZIS 6 (SV52) (at rear) . I don't have the SV38 yet.

Thanks Hertsblue.
Supplementary question, if I may. Is the canvas tilt a separate casting or is the model one piece? I'm looking for a Russian truck with an open back.
In this thread there are more pictures:

The ones without tilt look exactly the same as the ones who have a tilt so probably separet pieces :-\

Can confirm that the tilt is a separate piece as is the tray so that opens up all sorts of conversion possibilities.

Thanks to Peter and Grumpy.
I'll order a couple up for starters. I want some truck mounted 12.7mm AA MGs for my Soviets. The ZIS and a pack of the Vietnam era 12.7mm should let me do a suitable conversion.
All I need now are some quad MGs
Hi Ithoriel
Just saw a post on TMP that the SV38 Russian 2.5 is actually a GMC truck without tilt:-

so would look like this without the tilt :-

I'm sure Leon or someone will chime in here but I don't think SV38 is a GMC (I've got some GMCs in my Russian force as lend lease and they don't look the same) but is an open topped truck with a flat cab roof. I can take a photo tonight if it helps.

If it looks as if it was built in the twenties it's probably a ZIS.
If I can change the subject just for a second...sorry guys.
The picture of the truck GrumpyOldMan posted, what is the actual use for them in a gaming situation?
Hertsblue, they are very nice looking models!

The GMC 2.5 ton truck would be used as a logistics vehicle but also as a tractor. Mine deployed with the Red Army are Lend Lease (there were really far more Studebakers) which tend to act as gun tows for ZIS-3s. A page on Studebakers here: http://www.o5m6.de/studebaker_us6_u3.html

In my BKC Soviet battlegroup they would be artillery tractors. The reason for wanting open backed trucks was to allow me to add an AA model to a couple of my Command stands. Trucks with 12.7mm MGs or quad mount Maxims were uses as AA cover by the Russians.
For BKC a truck is a truck is a truck so makes and models are just flavour.
Am now wondering about an American or British truck or two for my Germans as captured lease-lend equipment. Just to ring the changes. Serried ranks of Opel Blitzes look a little too regimented.
The SV38 code isn't a GMC truck, it's a different model.

Thanks for the replies guys!
So could they be used to transfer troops closer to the opponents? If so that would be pretty cool haha

Depends on your rules, I guess. For example, the midwar BKC lists allows German trucks to move guns, infantry and support elements whereas Russian armies of the same period can only use them to move guns. Russians have the option of moving some of their infantry on the backs of their tanks, as they did in real life, to help make up for that.
Motor Rifle and Tank Corp infantry elements would use transport - up to the battle area.

FOW actually uses the ZIS truck as the HQ vehicle for the katyusha battery.

Very true Ian but that would be "off-table" for us. Which is why they don't have the option to arrive in trucks during the actual game in the army lists, I presume.
That said we've just had a scenario which started with Russian infantry in trucks being ambushed by German armoured cars. They're army lists not tablets of stone :)
