Title: 1914 Scots
Post by: GW844 on 18 October 2013, 02:37:29 PM
Looking ahead to my club's plans for 2014 and the first battles of the Old Contemptables it has become clear that a big omission in the current range is for troops in 'glengary' caps both kilted (Black watch, Gordons, Camerons and London Scottish) and trousered (Royal Scots Fusiliers and Highland Light Infantry).  Are there any plans to bring these out?  PLEASE  :D

A few years back, I sculpted/converted some for the Middle East range complete with bagpiper. Dave has them. They're probably lacking in Pendraken brilliance, though!

Don't forget the Cameronians, Neuve Chapelle 1915.

Tartan paint is fine as it is only 1 bottle

Yeah, but how do you scale down the tartan to 10mm?

If you need to choose between making highlanders or lowlanders in glengarries go for highlanders as Magister do lowlanders.  However, I would prefer both plus mgs. to be Pendraken.

Forgot to say - lowlanders in Glengarries would also make excellent Boys Brigade for VBCW

I see we have Highlanders, but still no Lowland Scots, i.e. Glengarry caps with trousers (unless I'm being blind). Any plans for them in the near future?  8->

Definitely needed. Of the 14 Scots battalions in the BEF during 1914, 6 were kilted with Glengarry's, 6 were in trousers and Glengarry's and 2 (the Scots Guards) were in trousers with the guards cap (possibly with a diced band around it). It would be a good addition to the range.

I'll add my vote too.

At some stage I'm going to need figures for Royal Scots, Royal Scots Fusiliers and KOSBs; these were all in trousers and glengarries.
