Well in between painting Fuzzy Wuzzy Camels, Unarmored Dervish Cavalry, and Turbaned Dervish, I was able to build my next 2 terrain boards for Skalitz, see below.

Looking great! :)
Excellent work 8).
They look really great.
Loverly rolling terrain, and shiny rivers.
Good stuff
That battlefield is looking really good.
Superb :-bd
Very, very nice! 8)

Looks very good indeed, compliments!
Cheers,

Looking very good indeed. I am assuming this is 1866 Skalitz (just in case some bizarre Teutonic cavalry battle also didn't occur there!).
Which rule set are you using? I have done this period with both Volley and Bayonet and also Black Powder. I am assuming you have all of Bruce Weigle's rule sets as references.
Like 'em. :-bd

Yes, it is for 1866, but I plan to use this for other periods also.
I do have Bruce's Rules for reference but we are using Bill Grays Age of Valor variant for Fire and Fury. We play Fire and Fury for ACW and variants for Medieval and Napeleonic. I do have Bill's Age of Eagles, but some in the group want a small scale version. This helps from getting all the different rules from getting mixed up during a game. We also play Battlefront WWII which is a great set of rules that for some reason does not get the spot light as some other rules do. it really makes you play combined arms.
I plan on a Russin Front game on this table in the future, it looks very steppe like with all the hills. But I still have 2 more boards to build.
Tom
Those look great...well done :D
all the best

Nice looking terrain, Tom. I like the woods particularly. May I suggest that the railway needs an embankment as it curves round in front of Skalitz. It was quite a feature of the battlefield.
Ray
I haven't quite figured out how I want the embankments to look. I want something that I can remove. I thought about cork but I don't think it will work. I think I will need to make specific railroad sections.
Any suggestions would be grateful
Tom
You could try polystyrene - but you'd probably need a hot-wire cutter to shape it. A coating of plaster filler would strengthen it. But you are right, it's probably a case of making up specific sections of track for the purpose. That way you can add it as a unit without having to modify the whole board.
Draught excluder, build up, shape with hot knife and cover with railway modellers ballast, v flexible and looks ok.
That's a lovely looking table Tom 8)
Superb terrain boards. At this scale, terrain is as important (if not more so) than the figure painting.
I see the influence of Bruce Weigle !
Any chance of a brief 'how to' ?
Cheers,
Phil
Very nice.
I'm particularly impressed the way the hills match up between the boards.
Very nice indeed
take care
