Blimey the fall of the Holy Roman Empire must have made the cartographers life hell. The mess that is the area of modern Germany and the surrounds! Makes Eastern Europe lok positively stable in comparison!

Followed a link to a vid showing the 10 biggest empires of all time. Naturally the Brits won - 13 million square miles at it's peak, beating Ghengis and the lads at 12.7 million. Sweet  ;).

Fascinating....But to an historical ignoramus like me, very very confusing....

Also very interesting on how far into Europe the mongols actually got. Never really got into the mongols but that's pretty scary how large the empire was!
