Hey all.
Seems i have lost my painting mojo a little bit :(
I have been bumped from regular hours at work to shifts again without any explenation, and i just can't find the strength or time to do anything at all.
Have you guys experienced this before? (i bet all of us ) And how do you cope?
Wait until the desire to paint is upon me is the short answer. Whilst i wait I do other gaming stuff, like basing, planning scenarios etc. Other things include reading military history or doing something completely different. Hope this helps?

Yes.
Sadly not much you can do. I STRONGLY advise against painting when you are not really up for it. Start another hobby somewhat related. Reading history is a good idea.
I find a change of period helps.
It will return, when you least expect it.
Been here times...especially when knackered...your creativity will return.
Don't know where you're based but World Wargames is on this weekend ;)

Well i'm based in belgium :(
But i have found a nice online computer game, war thunder. I am now currently shooting down enemies in a cr42 falco.
It is getting me interested in air combat games :D
I do have a large scale spitfire i bought just to have some fun with ... :-\
I do agree on painting without the urge to paint, it just makes me lose more mojo. I think i'll plan a solo game in for friday, gives me the urge to finish off the 17 pdr that's half painted maybe ...

"At least one colour on at least one figure by bedtime" is my mantra for such times. It doesn't even have to be the same figure each time. Just enough to feel that I am making some sort of dent in the lead mountain.
Kept me sane recently while I was under pressure at work - enough pressure to have left the company concerned. Well as sane as I ever was, which might be a subject of some debate :)

I thought it was having sex on a train under a newspaper :P
Not sure this insanity is helping peter with painting figures .... but hopefully it might be raising his spirits just a smidge!
When I've mislaid my painting mojo, I move over to scenery making.
That usually gets me going again.

Highly relevant to middle-aged men - if you don't want men in masks tinkering with your cardiac arteries in later life. :'( :'( :'(

Well i made some progress so who knows ;D
Just painted the flesh tones and woodwork on some units. But have to stop again cause i havve work in 1 hour. Just hate doing little bits here and there. I like painting if i can sit down for an hour or 3-4 and jut slap it on in big batches. I'll just have to get used to it i guess...

So i think i broke the curse.
Just finished a russian aa HT , 17 pdr and transport; two Russian jeeps and 57 mm AT guns, 2 mmg universal carriers and 8 skirmish figures.
Alas i need to get ready for work now so i can't flock and take pictures >:(

Good job sir
Thanks!
Really great !
Really nice :)
The 17 pdr really looks the business. :-bd
Feel your pain Peter :( Good to see you getting back into the swing of things. :)
Its been all work and no play for me this month, so much so that I'm finding it hard to motivate myself to do anything wargame related let alone paint. :'(
I'm back in tomorrow evening for four night shifts on the bounce but thankfully have this evening off so I have some cold ones in the fridge and 'Letters from Iwo Jima' and 'BoB boxed set' to see if I can get the creative juices flowing...
Yeah life treats us badly :(
Hope you get the flow running!
