Title: WWII Brit troops carrying ammo
Post by: Wulf on 16 September 2013, 09:57:26 PM
Are there any WWII British minis that look like soldiers carrying ammo or similar loads? I need some as 'Crew' for Bren Gun & Vickers MG Teams for Chain of Command so I can easily tell them apart from Riflemen...

I'll take that as a 'no', then, shall I?

Only solution I can think of would be to either use a different pose for weapon crews or ask Leon if you can get a pack of loaders only rather than full weapon teams?

There are some ammo carriers in the soon to be released Lewis gun team.

Apologies for missing this one, I'll check with Dave and see what options we've got.

There is a guy in the engineers pack that is running about with a backpack and no weapon, could use him to stand out as a munitions carrier

Thanks for the options, folks!

From memory I've used:

- The kneeling 3" mortar chap who 'operates' it.
- The ammo carrier for the PIAT gun.
- Some kneeling WWI infantry in helmet.
- Possibly the kneeling figures from the command pack.

As they are all kneeling or prone, they look different enough to distinguish them from the normal riflemen.

Hope this helps?

Kneeling guys are interesting, good idea. I have some spares, but I use them as gun crew too. I haven't looked at PIAT guys as I'm dound 1940 BEF, but they might do nicely...

The other option is to differentiate them by putting something on the bases. For my 15mm CoC forces I use one grass tuft for standard infantry, 2 tufts for weapons crews.

cheers,
