Title: My hardest task
Post by: kev1964 on 13 September 2013, 05:14:31 PM
Well here are my efforts on matching in some additions to a SYW army, my most difficult job so far, it,s very hard to recreate someone else's style and use of colours but i'm very pleased with the outcome. This is an excellent well painted army and i must give Clib credit for the amount of detail he has put into them, i would be very pleased to own them. I have enjoyed doing these but it will be nice to get back to normal  ;D. sorry for the slightly poor pics , i had to resize as they came up massive when i first previewed them, and me ,cameras and computers dont work well together  ;D

Great stuff!  These pics don't really do justice to what Kev has achieved. He has a number of pics of single bases of Clib's originals and his reproductions. They are remarkable, particularly the basing. This is something I have never been able to do, and it is the key to inserting new figures into old units.  I am truly delighted with what Kev has done, and I will now get to play Maurice with some fabulous armies.

By the way. You all see those bases of Austrian/Hungarian grenadiers with three march attack figures and a command figure on?  Well on each base two of the figures were painted by Clib, and two by Kev. Can you spot which is which, because I can't!?   :-\

Trying to gain fame for passing off 28mm as 10 mm, are we ??

Or perhaps I`m slighty envious on the mad painting skills shown.  :D

Stunning work there, truly stunning.  =D> =D>

Truly beautiful, Kev. I would kill for figures like that. (Carefully assembles sniper-rifle).  ;)

Great job, Kev! Perhaps there's a Painting Competition category we hadn't thought of? Painting in a different style? It is difficult to match styles. Sometimes impossible.

Top notch Kev.
Having seen Clib's stuff on the forum before you've matched the style bang on. Must've been really hard as the temptation must be there to slip into your own style.
