Heresy, but I am running a NWF Campaign for two scales one using PD 10mm and also some 15mm figs.
The game is managed using the Valley of Fire system developed to support The Sword And The Flame rules. I am up scaling this to enable 10mm figures in more realistic formations and also use things like supply columns etc
Turn 0 set has occurred and this is the starting positions with the Uzbek tribe in revolt taking with it some other minor villages. The British have the objective of relieving the fort with the relief column starting in the bottom left corner.
Pathan villages may join the revolt bringing more units into play as well as possible support from the wider region.

Turn 1 has just been completed and I will post that up providing that everyone is happy. We should get some 10mm eye candy shots pretty soon as first engagements are imminent
Looking magnificent
Nice idea and look forward to seeing some game pics 8).
Ditto !
HAH !!....I'm struggling with focusing already today.....
Those 'spots' on the diagram aren't helping Si..... ;D ;D ;D ;D
I think this will be magnificent....Looking forward to seeing the 'real thing'.
Cheers - Phil
Looks great! I have the campaign rules, but have not started buying NWF yet. I wonder if this could be adapted to the Sudan?
I'm sure it says something disturbing about the "jokes" I get emailed by friends and colleagues but I keep reading the title of this post as "NSFW Campaign"
However, once I get past that, it looks interesting and I'll add to the chorus of requests for pics of some of the games.
Looks like its going to be an excellent campaign! As the NWF is one of my favourite areas of interest I'll forward to your future posts. Keep up the good work
That looks highly intriguing. What era are you setting the campaign in - bearing in mind that the NWF conflicts could run from the 1870s up to the 1930s?
This one is set in 1887 so just before Black Mountain but my choice of dates really. Mounted Pathan units appear in the rules but not too sure how realistic that is in this time period.
Pendraken figs in progress of being painted up for the larger engagements and my 15mm for the smaller skirmish type things.
I have started putting info together (only the stuff which is public to both players) and while the direct engagment pictures can go up, the scenario brieifings to both sides will be a little behind otherwise I will be giving intel out a bit too early.

for the blurb etc. The supply instruction is going to be changed slightly and I am going to remove the fighting column restriction on 5 units and introduce supply columns on table which need to be protected this means that if the British want to dump supplies they will need to leave a guard etc which means I have some night attacks etc to plan in as well as the usual picquet actions and Village pacification type games.
More to follow as usual unless I get diverted onto other projects (which is also usual)
Looking good, Si 8)
Looks excellent
Can you give me some info about the Valley of Fire system pleases
Alan
Here you go, The author and I have been chatting about odds and ends. Apparently he never had any feedback or comments on this piece of work

This chap's website has a similar campaign system to the VOF and has loads of great information as well

End of turn 2 with British Cavalry patrols encountering bands of Pathan tribesmen. Hopefully some on table games next turn as the first two villages have been scouted.

Looking forwards to that.
Looking forward to this one!
I'm just about to get my Boer War British batallions ready for a campaign and we've already decided to expand to to the NWF so this is going to be a very interesting thread for me...
Pathans will arrive in Antwerp in twoo weeks so then things will get rolling :D
Cheers,
