Need to paint these :

Yes you do! I'm sure they will be excellent.
Great sculpts. With a bit of conversion or clever basing they would be perfect for Stalingrad, fighting amongst the rubble. Hmmm :-\.
I've made the conversion from classic infantry to Tank Desant for Pendraken : they came in two different couples of miniatures.
On this photo I added an soviet officer (base cut, arm redirected to the front, legs slightly bend) on one tank and one rifleman (base cut, one leg cut and glue back) on the other. I'd like to add more, but I want to keep the turret free, to change it with the T-34/76 turret.
They look very effective, B. Looking forward to seeing them painted. :-bd
Fast paint job. The ink is still fresh.

Those are really lovely, nicel composed and beautifully painted. Nice one. 8)
Facebook kills the photo. I'll try to find another host.

Leon can you edit my former post with this link ?
Hi Barbarian,
very nice effect. In the pack SV63 I received, there is not an officer with cap. How have you make it ?
BH62
I used some officer from the officer pack, some riflemen and some sniper scouts.
I use strong scissors to cut the base. (bit after bit, not in one go !)
Then, I just bend gently with a blade, or pliers.
For the seated ones, I cut one leg and glue the foot and resculpt the missing parts.
Excellent B !! :-bd :-bd
Cheers - Phil
Thanks Barbarian, I'll try, but Leon could make an effort to propose more different poses ...!!!! ;)
The problem isn't Leon. I imagine I could do more or these. :-\
nice paintjob!
Nice "hang on for dear life" effect. Gives the models a lot of life.
Incidentally, you might try Photobucket as a host. I find it quite acceptable.
I'm doing the markings.
If someone can redirect me on a link which explain the tactical markings...
Mainly how does the numbers work.
I used Google+ on the second attempt, I think it's linked with Picasa.
The answer is a QI ? - it varies between units, and is not an army standard. It may not even be logical across a brigade.

Love the look - by far the most realistic I have seen :D

This is the book you need. Unfortunately now rather expensive - in 1983 it was just £7.95.

I had resolved myself to use Light Americans Tank, but fortunately, T-60's arose.
The only leased material in my Soviet force is a White scout car.
Got copies of Zaloga's Eastern Front and Blitzkreig cammo books plus Hughes & Mann's book on the T-34 for the grand total of £5 in a charity shop earlier this year. Excellent reference books and well worth the money!!
Very nicely done 8)
I added a head in a drivers hatch. And the markings. And the matt varnish.
Need to redo some photos.
I've played a game of BKC II yesterday with them, they did well.
BTW, the more I play BKC II, the more I find it a clusterf*** to make decisions, to remember the various modifiers on the command rolls, and to frakking remember the rules of concealed troops, visibility in low terrain, and high terrain.
Concealed troops are seen if they fire, or move along or out of cover, or if an enemy unit comes under 10 cm for INF or 20cm if AFV. .... OKAY
Low terrain : INF sees INF under 10cm. INF sees AFV at 20cm. AFV sees INF at 20cm.....OKAY
High terrain : INF sees INF at 5cm. INF sees AFV at 5cm. AFV sees INF at 5cm. AFV sees AFV at 10cm...OKAY.
Now try to work out these rules with troops into a village (high terrain) with a field crop in front (low terrain) and the opponent in the woods (high terrain) ...MIND BLOWED.
Use just the worst case.

Someone has offered to sell me a copy of BKC2 for the price of a biscuit and raisin yorkie..I have offered 2 as it seemed fairer price
Fenton. was that 2 chunks of a Yorkie or two whole Yorkies ?
Lovely Job on those models, catches just the right feel.
Two complete yorkies, unopened and unlicked
Excellent work , especially the riders,

Just to brag a little bit : I've just taken a Bronze medal at the Monte San Savino Show in the Military vehicles and Dioramas category for these three T-34/85 into a wheatfield.

Yep, the True Scale won a third place. ;)

Very well done.
:D
Superb models, a well deserved win.
Excellent, well done!

Whatever they're putting on the wheat to make it grow like that, it's working!
Very nicely done, B. If you hand-drew the numbers I take my hat off to you.
FK : This is a well grown doormat. :P
Hertsblue : Everything done with my little hands.
that's great !
=D>
( I' m searching for something to do 1940 wheat fields. What did you used ? :-\ )
Doormat = Paillasson.
If you're lucky, you'll find different heights.
Thank you.
I only found "high" doormats, so I thought it wasn't ok. I will search for the good ones.
:-bd
Very nicely done 8)
They look absolutely fantastic
take care
andy
They look great can I ask what paint colours you used for the Desant troops?
Cheers
Richard :)
Vallejo:
-856 Ochre Brown (which is really more yellow than it seems). Highlights with 856 + 918 Ivory.
-helmets in 894 Russian Green. (really dark) highlights with 894 + 918 Ivory.
-Boots, weapons : Acrylic Payne's grey : almost black.
-skin : model master pink-salmon.
The process is :
-Matt 63 Humbrol base-coat (for gaming, it is better, diluated with Turpentine)
-Flat colors.
-Wash : Colorex Airbrush acrylic burnt Sienna (or anything brownish).
-Re-base color but diluated
-Highlights
Great thanks much appreciated 8)
After a bit of research, I discovered that the T-34/85 model 43 was available in early 44, so no T-34/85 at Kursk.
I remade a T-34/76 obr 43 (the one with the commander cupola and the rounded turret) from a T-34/76 model 41.

Oooooohh!! I LIKE that!
Me wanna!
Nice!

Very nice

Very neatly done, Barbarian, but the thought of converting a dozen of them gives me the willies. 8-} 8-} 8-}
I'm sending this one to Leon and Dave, they'll decide if they want to put them in production.
I'm not mad, I don't want to do this twelve times.
I may do the T-34/76 obr 42 from this : Hard corners, cut the cupola and voilà.
That looks awesome; if Pendraken don't want to put these into production they're missing out on a great opportunity I'd say! ;)
Cheers,
Rob
