Hi all,
I want to photograph some of my minis to put on the forum but they don't come out well:
a) I lose a lot of the highlighting;
b) They are either over or under exposed;
c) Despite matt varnish, they shine.
Any suggestions anyone???
Set the camera for macro mode and make sure you use a tripod or stand. I always set the camera to delay taking the photo so that it takes then photo a few seconds after I've pressed the button.
Don't use flash. I use a lightbox. This is a clear plastic box that I cover with greaseproof paper and then I use three lamps to make sure the light is diffuse and there are no shadows.
Make sure the focus dot is on a figure, rather than the background. under or over exposure can be easily dealt with on the computer.
Hope this helps.

And Fenton agrees with you :o
Gotta love this forum ;)
If you want to send me some of your under/over exposed pics, I'll have a go at them.
