Our club AGM is coming up and I'd be interested to hear what others pay for their wargaming clubs. Most club websites don't advertise their costs.
Ours doesn't have an annual subscription, but costs £6 for a weekly evening session (7-11pm). £10 for an all day when we have them.
I think that's quite high but obviously the club has to cover its costs. It's still a fairly cheap night out, but then I don't go to the pub or cinema every week (or month for that matter).
So, if anyone can give me an idea on your annual subscriptions, weekly attendance cost etc I would be interested to hear.
Thanks.
Edit This is just for interest. I'm not looking for an alternative club.

Thats good then.
I think we pay 30 quid a year...but its joint wargame/RPG club so has quite a few members..Open once a week on a Monday 6-11pm
Any special 1 day events is usually a fiver on the day
Fiver subs, three per night or a ton for the whole year.
I used to do th ton, but since the little one came along I've only been six times in fourteen months, so three quids for me!
We used to pay an annual fee to be members of the village hall, then around £5 per night, which actually ran from 3.30pm - 11.00pm. Saturday games were £5 IIRC. Not that these were discounted prices as we were one of the main revenue streams for the village hall. Sadly the club is no longer in existence for a variety of reasons.
I'll say thanks now for responses so far. Early start tomorrow & I won't be back to take this up till the evening.
15 quid, +1 quid per night (Club 1)
20/+1 per day (Club 2)
We pay £1 a night, and are supposed to subscribe to Wings Sports and Social......but our glorious leader pays that.
I should invite FSN, but all grinding of tracks might make it a bit noisy, as we are about 18-20 miles from Runcorn.

Do you really want him to know where you are?
Five pounds membership, three quid a meeting.
£1 per night and .50p for concessions, £2 all day saturday. The club show subsidises the costs.
Hall hire is £20 split between who turns up
Nothing apart from buying drinks
The Tudor Arms in Slimbridge provides us with
- use of the Skittle Alley or the family room every week throughout the year
- storage for a dozen 6x4 boards plus smaller boards plus tables
- space for weekend tournaments 3 or 4 times a year for free
- excellent beer and food

Some of you guys have some very cheap fees for gaming. I know some potential members to our old club were put off by the 'high' cost of a nights gaming.
We divided the cost of the venue by the average number of attendees then added 50p or a quid to give us a bit of a fund to cover low numbers. I think we did £3 for employed and £1.50 for unwaged.. that was 5 years ago now :D
Thanks very much for all the replies. It certainly seems we are paying a high price at £6/night.
We have gained one or two members this year and attendance is good so perhaps a reduction is possible. I can but ask.
The obvious answer would be to get even more members, but the hall is a bit small and won't take many more.
Thanks again.
When I factored in the cost of driving to and from the venue and the odd soft drink, I was paying around £10 per visit. So mainly I would only get one game in, so it seemed rather a lot of money to bung some die for a few hours. This was not the main reason I stopped going, but it was a factor. With the money saved, I could buy a BKC battle group every month from Pendraken :). Now we game it each others houses as and when work and family time allows and it's free, plus you don't get the clubs bores or rules lawyers telling you how to play your game!
We pay a £10 to join and then it's 2 per night/sunday. We have been filling the hall this year though and usually the stage as well recently. I suspect our show contributes a fair subsidy towards our costs.

Always looking for new members, lots of 10mm played.
Section 8 wargames club south shields.
Sorry couldn`t resist a plug.
Jim
Section 8...like it :D
Bunch of madmen by any chance???
25 pounds a month waged, otherwise 15. However it is our premises so games can be left up, figures and terrain can be left there and key holders can play any time they like, which is very useful for me, being retired, I can set up one day, play late into the night and go down the next day to take it all down. There is a five pound table fee for non-members.

Wow, that is impressive! Especially finding members who can afford £25 per month. :o
You'd be surprised. Fifty odd full members plus a number of fee-paying non-members. Mind you, it is a city centre location.
