Title: Strange request
Post by: sebigboss79 on 21 August 2013, 01:52:33 PM
Anyone from Cornwall and coming to Edinburgh at some point soon?

I would like a few bottles of this:

http://www.cornishmead.co.uk/shop/cherry-mead/

and the postage is unreasonable. I have to option to buy from Germany at roughly the same postage and the product is cheaper as well as fully organic. I get like 11 bottles instead of 5!

Moniack is the superior stuff.

Dave's actually down in Cornwall this weekend, but I'm not sure how he'd then get it up to Edinburgh for you?!

Would only work on a show and carronade is too far away Leon but thanks for thinking of me.

@ Wulf: I had Moniack, I had Lindisfarne as well as a few others and, no offense, they blow Giptels compared to the stuff fom Naturprodukte-MV beekeeper.
Fully organic and also cheaper. I came across this website and the price tag is quite hefty. It seems they ferment the cherries with the honey and I wanna taste if there is a difference to adding cherry juice like the German shop.

In Germany we talk about 6-7 quid per bottle max! The non-organic stuff is as cheap as 4 quid at the most but I prefer nature over chemistry. In fact I am ordering in a couple of days.... but still wanna taste this one.

I can't get anything locally except Harvest mead from Morrisons. Fortuantely it is acceptable, like a less sweet Moniack.

Just make your own, much cheaper!  My sister is always brewing something, the shelves in the garage have got all sorts of bottles in there, from nettle wine to blueberry gin...  :D

If you really like Mead and live close by (Edinburgh) pop around ;)

@Leon: Been looking at that but not feasible at the moment :(

It goes without saying that "your own" is always the best.
