Can some body recommend a good book that covers the vagaries of Spanish civil war.uniforms as I have read that the Osprey books are not that good on the subject or any worthwhile website's

The best by far is Uniformes militares en la Guerra Civil Espanola by Jose Maria Bueno.
My copy is from the 70's, but I think it's been reprinted since (maybe with slight variations on the title).
Anyhow, that's my two-penn'orth. Highly recommended.
