I am much better known on the retro/Oldhammer scene through my blog http://realmofchaos80s.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1/ (http://realmofchaos80s.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1/) than on historical miniature gaming forums. But I have a secret historical passion for the ECW and Biblical periods. I have tried so hard to get organised in 28mm but due to a lack of time and space it never comes to fruition. Someone suggested trying out 10mm so here I am.
EDIT: Link fixed.
Welcome Orlygg.
Welcome! This is the happening place to be for everything 10mm. Please join those of us trying to get Bernie to get his rules for ECW in 10mm out onto the market!

QuoteSix: Phil Lewis at work photographing miniatures. Phil was a vital part of GW at this time and we would love to interview him, so if anyone knows his whereabouts today please contact me.
This might help, then. :D

Remember kids, Phil worked at a time when you couldn't see the photograph until it was developed. I'd imagine that snapping hundreds of models all day must have been hard work indeed.
We beat you to it: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,6575.0.html (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,6575.0.html)

Early as possible really, though perhaps biblical isn't quite the right term. Mesopotamia, Canaanites... anything ancient near east or africa really. Like I said, i have been trying to build armies for years with 28s but just cannot find the time with the 'day hobby' with old school fantasy. Hence a move into 10s. I am also partial to Dark Age England and the events surrounding the Battle of Brunanburh. Great interview with Phil the Techno by the way. I'll be borrowing some of those details for the old school guys.
Hi Orlygg,
welcome to the madhouse :-)
Been looking to get into 10mm Sumerians myself. Not something Pendraken do but a couple of nice ranges out there in 10mm.
Seem to remember the realmofchaos blog from when I was looking at doing an armylist for Warmaster Ogre Kingdoms, though I may be misrembering. My memory isn't what it once was :(
Welcome and the biggest difference you'll notice between this lot and the Evil Empire is that you'll always have too much too paint AND there will still be money in your wallet. Strange but true.
Welcome to the asylum.
Hi and welcome,
kev

Welcome to the funny farm, Orlygg. :D
Taken the plunge and gone for the Anglo saxon army deal here. I'm basing the army around the Battle of Brunanburh, which has interested me since I was an undergraduate. Hail Caesar has a nice section on the battle and I plan to use Rick's ruleset for 10mm. Just hqve to wait my 21 days now!
Thanks to you all for the warm welcome. Now off to look for anglo saxon inspiration on these boards. Any tips?
There's some Saxon's painted on Olivant's blog here: http://theolivant.pbworks.com/w/page/45692494/10mm%20Dark%20Age%20Saxon (http://theolivant.pbworks.com/w/page/45692494/10mm%20Dark%20Age%20Saxon)
And we'll get that army pack cast up and sent out asap for you!
