Title: What is next in LoA range?
Post by: Sandinista on 08 August 2013, 04:37:38 PM
What are the next planned releases in LoA range, any Cuirassiers planned and the likely timescale for this?

The first cavalry packs are being rejigged to give the same figures, but with swords on waistbelts which are more suitable for French horse. Then cuirassiers will be done.
No timescales, but they are the next thing that will be done.

Folks, is there any sign of Command packs in the pipeline - as in generals and such?

Hello All:I'm looking for information on the LoA ie,Color's of uniform's,ratio of pike to shot, and recommend reading on the genral history of the period.I'm not new to PENDRAKEN mini's have a bunch, nor to historical gaming. But new to this period does come under what's commonly called The Lace War's. After seeing Kevs figures and I'm a big fan of Clib's work I ordered some and was not dissappointed.I just need someone to kindly direct me to the information I need to start on these little work's of art. Would Osprey have something to get me started, Thank's in advance for any direction anyone can give me.
                                                         Sincerely Rougue (aka Mike)

Hi Mike,

What i know about rules you could write on the back of a stamp  ;D, but i have based these for Maurice ( under instruction ) and i have the exact layout  and amount of figs needed per regiment if that helps. Not sure what particular battle /battles they are for but if you pm me your email i can send you the complete list/pics of pretty much all the french and allied  regs from apx 1670 - 1700 plus for a start.
Hope this helps,

kev

The Osprey title Louis XIV's Army has some useful illustrations for the French. There are also a few other titles in their list which may help.

I'd recommend getting the Wargames Illustrated CD if its still available;
http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,7322.0.html

It covers the Dutch, British and French Infantry really well. The series ran out of steam before getting to the French cavalry (though it does cover the Maison du Roi), but for £30 its really packed with information.

You would be better with 'Beneath the Lily Banners 2'.
It would give you all the basic info you need.

Rex

Bought several of them some time ago for Marlburian. They are well worth the investment.

The League of Augsburg website forum is good for info, as is Quindia Productions website and the 'Don't Throw a One' blog.
