The commennts on Ithoriels into, have led me to start this thread .
Besides having a large collection of some 10,000 figures and terrain ( If Mrs Orcs reads this I lslipped with the 0's there are two to many). The following illustrates the child in me
A few weeks ago I took my 14 year old daughter to Mac Donalds. I took off one end of the paper covering the drinking straw, Aimed at my daughter and blew hard through the straw. The said paper covering missed her by a couple of inches and hit the rather attractive Yummy Mummy on the table opposite. Fortunately she saw the funny side as I stumbled over an appology ;D
;D ;D ;D
My daughter rips off both ends of a McDonalds straw for exactly the same reason.
My children have already said that, since I will clearly never paint all the lead and plastic I have accumulated, I should be buried like the Qin emperor with my armies arrayed around my tomb. Lots of fun for archaeologists a couple of thousand years hence!
Anyway, on to childish things :) In Tesco this morning getting a couple of bunches of flowers for my Mum (she's 84 today) and stood in the queue at the checkout when I realised that the woman in front of me was getting increasingly frustrated with her two or three year old son who was increasingly bored and fractious as mummy moved a mountain of shopping from the trolley to the conveyor belt and back again. So, having nothing better to do I entertained the child with games of peep-o, the "magic trick" where you apparently remove the top of your finger and stick it back on and similar distractions. Once finished with her shopping the woman turned to me and said,"You're really good with him. Thanks!" I replied that it was easy as my mental age was about the same as his. She looked at me for a few seconds and said,"True of pretty much every man I've ever met."

It was a shame my daughter was there - I already had the ice breaker :d
Would have been really weird if your daughter wasn't there.
Lol
Along similar lines to firing paper tubing of the end of a straw.....
Anyone tried this one to keep small children (and yourselves) amused ?
Take about a dozen or more sheets of loo paper from the roll.
Put the first sheet so that it's just touching the water in the pan.
Trail the paper backwards from there, and along the floor.
Close the lid.
Flush the loo and watch the trail of paper being 'sucked' into the pan.
Complete waste of loo paper and water.....But children under 5 and older idiots think it's rather amusing.
(Don't use too much paper or you'll block the loo.) :P
Cheers - Someone who should know better.
