I was hoping for a girl.  That would have been historic!

Still, bless 'im and his little royal behind. I wouldn't be him for anything ... though just think of the Pendraken orders he'll be order to make!

I think you will find the answer is about 3 days...

They seemed to spend all day wittering on about that it was going to happen. I blame the Aussies for being so poor at cricket, today should have been the 5th day of the test match, and now the news needed something else to report on.

Is that normal that I really don't care ?

I found out who Diana was in 1997.

But really, does the Royal family matter for you, Englishmen ?

Personally, I like the fact that we have a constitutional monarchy chosen at random by accidents of genetics, as opposed to a president chosen by press barons and corporate sponsors. I think the royal family have added stability, spectacle and character to this country.

That said I'd be happy with a little less hoo-ha over the new sprog but that's rolling news for you.

As for the over the top enthusiasm of many Americans for the new prince (any chance he could be Prince Will.i.am? Thought not :) ) I give you this reaction from George Takei's Facebook page:

Not that I really care for royalty (we have them over here as well), but I care even less for politicians and I`m quite content with keeping one of those out of the posistion as head of state... :D

I agree, While I would only wish the safe arrival of anyones baby,  I do think Oliver Cromwell had the correct idea when it came to Royalty.
