Title: A rare kindness
Post by: ryman1 on 22 July 2013, 07:11:01 PM
Just thought I'd post up here a very kind act by an ebayer (archdukecharles), he's clearly a 10mm gamer so some of you may know him.

I have recently sold a few AWI units on ebay to fund my figure purchases as I have no outside income, the first 2 sold well with lots of bids and I was very happy.
However, the latest sale was low (x3 the bare metal cost).
I logged into Paypal this morning to find 2 payments from him, the first for the final auction price and a second with a note attached saying that as the final price was so low he was sending a further payment as he thought the figs were worth much more than he paid.

What a wonderfully kind and thoughtful gesture! If anyone has the pleasure to deal with this chap, I'd highly recommend him.

Cheers

Ry

A gentleman - for all our faults I think we have an above average proportion of them in the hobby, and it is always nice to hear of them.

That's good to hear, as Mollinary says, wargamers tend to be a very honest and friendly bunch.

Won an auction on E-Bay for 5 packs of Perrin 10mm WW2 Soviets. Arrived today. Seller found he had 6 packs. Sent the extra one free of charge. Far from the only time I've had people on E-Bay pull the stops out when they had no obligation to.

My 60th today - kind of like an extra birthday present.

Hats off to "chris_j_steadman" whoever he is.

Good stuff as well, we've sent some AWI to a similar name before, so it could be the same chap.
