Title: Podcasts
Post by: fsn on 19 June 2013, 09:00:28 PM
Gentlemen!

I have a long and tedious journey into work, which I enliven with the copious application of the iPod, and Radio 4. I find myself in the doldrums for good military history podcasts that I haven't taken roughly, used up and spat out like so much unwanted gristle.

Currently I have:
History extra (some episodes better than others)
The History network (Excellent subjects, but delivered in a monotone.)
In Our Time. (Things you didn't even know you wanted to know about.)
The Meeples and Miniatures Podcast (is it just me or does Neil Shuck sometimes sound like David Attenborough? )
View from The Veranda (Think I OD'd on that. Listened to 5 episodes back to back and haven't been the same since.)

I'd like something with a bit of variety, not a 137 part history of the War of Jenkins' Ear, or a regular discussion show about Napoleon's buttons.

Do you, erudite, technophile golems who dance to the Pendraken pipers have any podcasts that you could suggest? If not, I'll just have to dream up more threads for the forum, like "Why, those Centurions are so well camouflaged, they might almost not be there!"

If they're still available the BBC 'History of the World in 100 objects' was excellent
