Title: A question to you, Leon.
Post by: fsn on 19 June 2013, 07:26:32 PM
On the 1st June, I ordered twice from Pendraken. Both orders approximately the same value. One ordered at 8 am, the second at 10:30pm. The first arrived a week ago, and yet of the second there is no sign.

Hmmm. What could explain this?  :-\

1. The obvious answer is some kind of time dilation effect that impacted sometime between the two orders being placed.    :-/
2. I've been forgotten  :'(
3. Something in my order is ... unusual  :-[ :-[
4. Everyone at Pendraken went on holiday at noon on 1st June, and hasn't come back yet.  ???
5. Leon wants my anticipation to be extended.  :o
6. The first order was super-speedily despatched  =D>
7. There was a huge number of orders placed between my two orders which have caused a huge backlog  :-q
8. I've been the lucky 1,000,000th customer and my order is being gold plated  8->

I'm still thinking 1. is the most likely.

It's actually a mix of 3 & 6, with a bit of 5 thrown in for fun...

The orders at this end are split up, as different ranges are cast by different people.  Dave looks after most of the 20th C stuff, and then me, Stuart and Alan take care of the rest.  With the first order being all ACW stuff, I passed it straight over to Alan (who likes his ACW!) and it got done pretty quickly.  The second order, being WWII, was in Dave's pile and took a while longer to work it's way up to the top.

The good news is that it's all done, and is sat on the side now waiting to be packaged up.  Apologies for the delay on it.

I think Leon is just thinking of your blood pressure.  >:(

Last time you received two orders on the same day your level of excitement nearly reached critical levels.   <:-P :x =O

So Leon is perhaps pacing you, and only releasing orders when he feels you will be ready for them...

No need for apologies, Sir! I am in no way upset, merely curious.

'tis true! Pendraken, is a caring master of our lives (we that are harnessed to the Pendraken chariot). There is no caprice or cruelty in the drip, drip, dripping of orders, merely benevolent despotism.

Leon is our friend. Leon is wise. Leon is the provider of Pendraken goodliness. Leon promises eternal happiness and Centurions!

We are all happy when Leon is happy.  :-[

Wargames executives ?

HAH !!

I remember well, when two young police ladies puled up next to me in their car and asked if I knew where 'such and such' an address was. (Next door)
I was SO close to asking them if they were sure they were old enough to drive.....They both looked about fourteen.....Honestly !
That's when I REALLY felt old. :'( :'( :'( :'(

Cheers - Phil.

Sad? No, I'd hate to be a teenager in the world we have today, very little prospect of a long term job with decent pay, as much chance of buying your first home as of winning the lottery. When I was their age my pay packet would have bought me (after deductions) approximatly 400 pints (of beer) I'd hate to think what you'd have to be earning these days to have that kind of disposable income.

I think for the next week all new post titles should be related to songs. For example:

"Where oh where, has my Centurion gone?"
   "It's fun to play in the L - O - A - way"
   "Leon, where's my cruisers?"
   "Knights in white satin undercoat"
"Starry, starry night. Paint your rebels blue and grey".
   "Whiter shade of mail"
   "Smells like white spirit"
"Nice legs, shame about the lace."
   "Archery in the UK"
"How many roads must a man put down, before his opponent accuses him of stacking the table?"
"Get teenage Celts right through the right"
"They tried to make me play the Arab, but I said 'No, no no'"
"If I had a hammer, I'd hammer out a Centurion"
"Moon River, whiter than the old Citadel colour."
"Don't look sad, 'cos two out of three ain't bad - but you really screwed up the dip on that last one.
"Can't see my, can't see my. can't see my panzerfaust"
"I wish I was a tank rider, with flowers in my helmet band."
   "I'm just a bronze-age spearman, baby"
"This brown. Is getting like a rust- brown"

and of course ....
"Come on, come on, come on Centurion"

"But I would paint 500 Gauls and I would paint 500 more
Just to be the man who paints 1000 Gauls
To beat your bloody Republican Roman army. "

I'll stop now.

"Lend me your spears and I'll sell you a Sung, and I'll try not to throw two or three"
"Gimme, gimme, gimme a Hun after midnight ..."

"But the meanest thing that he ever did was before my left, he went and creamed my Sioux"

"Baggy trousers, baggy trousers, baggy trousers - 3 regiments of Zouaves".

"and after all ... you're my shield wall"

"If you go down in the woods today you're sure of a big surprise
If you go down in the woods today you'd better go in disguise
'cos there's a kampfgruppe in the treeline"

Both !! 8-}

To the tune 'Stairway to Heaven'.....

There's a gamer who's sure,
All his dice rolls are poor,
And he's losing the bulk of his army.

When they move up a hill,
They all seem to be ill,
And it all seems to drive him quite barmy.

At the end of the fight,
Nothing seems to be right,
And his figures are back in their boxes.

His opponent looks glad,
While our friend looks so sad,
(I don't think I should have used boxes......I'm stuck now !)

I'll go back and watch the tele. :P ;)

Cheers - Phil

"If you were the only girl in the world ... I'd still go to Salute"
"I predict a PIAT"
"It's murdering in France war, better not kill the cuirass-ier"
"I've been waiting for a Centurion, to come into my life."
"Like a Sherman, punched by the very first panzerfaust."
"All in all it's just another shield in the wall"

"Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the thrall of Pendraken".

Yup. Hasn't been a song worth listening to since 1979. Some worth watching the videos with the sound off  ... but that's for another thread.
