Thsi is my first post following on from my photo tutorials in the Promo Team Thread. I thought I'd start with a closeup of the Dux Brit base produced by Warbases. I have mounted three infantry figures on a penny. When on the DB base (in groups of 6 pennies) they are in unformed mass formation.

Ok, I'm now going to get on with having a go with the second method:

Sorry folks - it just does not seem to want to work with a Mac. You can follow my progress on Photobucket under dour puritan.
I'm not sure what's going on now. I've checked the links, and the web address is fine in them all, although the image code itself isn't coming over properly. One thing I have noticed though, there isn't an image being displayed when I check the web address. The description, folder and library info is all there, but there's just a grey box showing?
If folk would like the direct link for the folder, it's here: http://s1101.photobucket.com/user/dourpuritan/library/10mm%20Dux%20Britanniarum?sort=3&page=1 (http://s1101.photobucket.com/user/dourpuritan/library/10mm%20Dux%20Britanniarum?sort=3&page=1)
EDIT: I've got one of them working!
:D
I just tried to post one to the forum and it worked fine..I have now deleted it
Seeing them fine here (ipad)
Ah, the joys of the internet... ;D
Nah, when I tried to post it to the forum nothing appeared. When I went back to photobucket and tried to enlarge the failed picture, the larger image had become a grey fuzzy box. I'm going to have a go with some RCW White hussars:(http://[URL=http://s1101.photobucket.com/user/dourpuritan/media/10mm%20RCW/IMG_0810_zps411d700e.jpg.html][IMG]http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/dourpuritan/10mm%20RCW/IMG_0810_zps411d700e.jpg)[/URL]/img]
Bugger this, I'm going to watch episode 4 of Vikings. Night all!

Is that any good? It seems to be only available on Netflix, but I've seen trailers for it on regular TV.
Its on Lovefilm as well
Watched all 9 episodes, cracking series, liked it so much that my Saxon Lord in Dux Britainiarum is now named Ragnar Lothbrokson.
Like the figs you've chosen DP, I sadly went for Splintered Light 18mms, yours look much more like a unit than 6 figs.
Hope you're enjoying the rules, only a couple of raids into the campaign so far but its given us good fun fast moving games, what else can you ask from a ruleset?
My wife calls it Sons of Anarchy in boats

Yes its excellent. Can't wait for Series 2 .. 8)
Next year I'm afraid :( :(
I'm hoping to start playing in August (I've got two weeks on the canals to fit in) but the rules do look very promising. I think I'll start nice and early with the Saxon Shore. Being partly of Welsh extraction, and growing up in Llandudno I'm keen to take on the role of a somewhat miffed Romano-Briton who finds these uncouth Saxons a tad boorish. There is, however, a rather hairy member of the club who plays a fine aggressive game who is absolutely ideal for the role of a ruthless Saxon warlord. Should be fun/frightening.
We have played a load of games of Dux and it's great fun, hoping to start a proper campaign later in the year. If I hadn't already had a couple of hundred 28mm figures I would have gone for 10mm as well!
Here's how they are coming along.
Looking good 8).
Your not wrong! Really like those!
Thanks everyone. I'll post again when they are complete and try and improve the lighting. Should be finished later today or tomorrow. The levies are already based up and waiting to go.
Ready for battle - two warrior groups for the basic Dux Britanniarum Romano-British army. The first is in shieldwall formation.
The second is warriors in mass group using a Warbases Dux Britanniarum penny slot base.

DP - I have an idea why this isn't working for you. And unsurprisingly it is a photobucket issue, not a Mac issue.
In photobucket, when you view your photo, there is a section on the right, titled, Links to Share this photo. Click on the direct one (I think you have been using the IMG one). Then switch back to the Pendraken forum, and use the Insert Image button (the one with the landscape picture), this will put [ IMG ] tags in your post, then paste. This should put the code to link to the image in the post, and all should work.
I think you have been using the IMG option in Photobucket, which adds some extra URL tags which confuse the Pendraken forum software which is reading the square brackets as its tags.
Hope this helps.
Looking damn good DP. :-bd
Cheers - Phil.
Ok Fred, thanks a lot. Let's give it a go.

Just trying to help

So close !!!
You must have moved the cursor one character, as you need to paste the http:// bit in between the ][ of the img][/img tags.
But seeing the photos it was worth the effort!
They look really nice - I particularly like the skirmish warbases base, with the dispersed groups. Might have to give that a go as I have a couple of those bases lying around.
Another go with a FPW fort.

No, it won't work. However ther was a message telling me I needed to upgrade my media olayer by installing Genieo. When I started this it then said I could not complete unless I made Genieo my default search engine, which I am not prepared to do, I guess this could mean the end of me and photobucket. Maybe I should go back to Flickr.
Don't think the media player thing is connected.
Looking at what you have entered, you have managed to delete the [ that closes the [/img] tag
Once you have clicked the insert photo button on this forum, don't click anything else, or type anything, just go to the Edit Menu, and choose Paste. Or use the keyboard short cut Cmd C - this should paste into exactly the right place.
If you can still edit the post that didn't work all you need to do is type a [ between jpg and /img -- whats red here
.jpg[/img]

Yep, that was all that was missing from the post, so I've edited it now.
Let's try those ideas with a bit of Pendraken SYW loveliness
(http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/dourpuritan/10mm%20SYW/IMG_0391_zps05a31df0.jpg)
There we go everyone. After a couple of weeks it's been solved - click on direct then back to Pendraken. Click on paste then insert the [ in the correct place and bingo! Thanks for everybody's patience, help and goodwill on this. Now all I have to do is remember (until Photobucket bugger it all up again to make it even better [more complex] ). :d
This is the start of the British militia units using mainly Late Roman Militia but with some unarmoured infantry thrown into the mix. I have also used an unarmoured general figure as the unit commander. I am working on the assumption that the militia would contain men from all social classes, hence the range of colours, the commander possibly being a local notable.

Now dont get all excited and post everything at once. Save some for later!
Fear not. I'll complete the militia before anything else goes on (although I may start a RCW photo thread). It does give one a wonderful sense of freedom though (now where's that Mel Gibson Scottish figure?).
Very beautiful! ;)
Here are examples of the three militia units for the Romano-Britons. Each unit has its own shield design mainly for wargames identification. Historically I think individual soldiers turned up with their own shield design. For these troops it's the dress that varies and the distinct lack of armour which marks them out as militia.

Looking good, DP :)
Very nice sir!
Sometimes I think showing them that size actually detracts from the whole point of them being 10mm - ie. they look better when viewed from a couple of feet away doing their stuff on the table.
Oh bugger! James White's just published an article in the current WS&S showing how to paint the self same figures. Could have done with that three weeks ago. Still, some very useful ideas there and it's only the start of a series on 10mm painting.

Yep, 10 mils are all about massed formations. Nice work though, DP. 8)
I'll check out the current issue as the figures on the paint bench awaiting inspiration to get them started.
Article in WS&S is worth a look and more promised
Yep, nice article in WS&S, had a read of it the other day. Good to see some of our Painting Comp winners in the photo's as well!

First time ever I've managed to complete an (albeit small) army in only a month. Next will be the Saxon opposition. Here are the completed Romano-Britons for a Dux Britanniarum basic army photographed on a 6'x4' table at Liverpool Wargames Club.

Nicely done, DP, nicely done - the round bases are really effective, especially for the units 8)
Really nice sir
Here's a few more close ups of the other elements in the army.

The missile troops based in twos rather than threes.
That's it for now. I'll post some RCW later, then I'm off on the canal boat for a fortnight - there's nowt like sleeping in a tin can in this weather.
