Hey gents!
Looking at buying a rulebook from the use me family, and doubting between WW2 , wild west and the modern skirmish.
What i need to know is if the modern one also contains army lists for the vietnam era, and if the wild west one has rules for running out of ammo (wich i find interesting in a world full of six-shooters)
If anyone has these books please let me know, otherwise it will be the ww2 book for skirmish games and smaller operations that are harder to do with bkc.
I want to give these a try in anticipation of phil's zombie miniatures, as the yalso have a supplement for that.
I use the Zombie dawn rules whenever possible, I must say I actually really like the ruleset, it's easy and quick to get into. I can't speak of the others, but since they all use the same system they should be pretty good too.
I'll be using the pendraken walkers with them as well, you wouldn't need any conversion from the norm, just use them as is.
You might want to get some of the other sets too, that way you can mix and match which bits you like best to use (plus they are cheap, so it won't break the bank!)
There was talk of UBER USE ME in the future, an advanced set of the USE ME ruleset, but I don't know if that will come about anytime soon.
Then there's talk about a WAR PIGS set for USE ME....Who knows what that's all about?...... ;)
Don't know about army lists for ww2, but I doubt it, from experience don't buy the paper copy, buy the PDF and print it yourself, your eyes will thank you, there's a massive difference between reading the same page in A4 and A6.
@ i am win: Yeah they are cheap, but i want to try one first before i commit ;) . I have about a thousand revell 1/72 minis lying about in a box (ww2, vietnam, modern and cowboys) , so i can try out whatever i buy ;D . I have made a purchase on ebay for wich i filled up my paypal account with some spending money, and after the purchase was done, it seemed i had about 7$ left, so enough to get me a test copy :D
@ GordonY : I was going to buy the pdf copy anyway, that way i can just print it out for my co players, as they are also unfamiliar with them. I have glasses since the age of 4 and actually dismissed the rulesets immediately when i saw the size of the book. But while browsing the miniatures i came upon the download section of the site later on.
All in al, when this one set looks ok, i'll probably be getting 3 to 4 of them, including the support pack.
So i got me the WW2 one, as that seemed to get the most interest of my game buddies.
Skimmed through it just now, and must say it looks very nice for that price!
