Hey,
looking for some pictures of the 10mm dwarfs (hill and regular) preferably next to a ruler or perhaps some other manufacturer's models (feel free to PM pics to me to avoid breaching forum rules) I'm wondering how they will fit in, size wise, before ordering half an army's worth...
many thanks in advance!
I'm sure there are quite a few pictures of the dwarf ranges on the forum - have you tried searching?
The Pendraken Dwarfs are quite big - they are one of the older fantasy ranges and these were all scaled together, at a rather large size than the historical figures.
They are a fair bit taller than GW dwarfs - but probably very similar in size to Kallistra. The figures have a lot of character - but you need to check the size if you are trying to match against existing figures. Leon will probably be able to send you a selection of figures for a low price so you can check them out your self.

hmmm that's quite disappointing if I'm honest......
I have a whole bunch of GW dwarfs for warmaster, but I'm missing the warriors to make the core of the army, I was hoping I could do it with some pendraken models as they're pretty nice, varied and well priced.... I measured my GW dwarfs and they're around 9mm to the eyes, hence my request for pics with a ruler... if I didn't already have half the army, I'd do the whole lot with Pendraken dwarfs as it's much more about the balance of scale within an army than the relative balance between armies
I am utterly skint at the moment, but I will pick up a small selection early next month for comparative purposes
pics would still be very useful!!
edit: Luddite, that's very useful and I had come across it previously (it's one of the main reasons why I joined the forum!) but unfortunately it doesn't give me much idea of how big/small the models are.... any chance of snapping a couple of pics next to a ruler?
I have some GW and Pendraken dwarfs, but I will have to dig them out - I will try and find them and take photos later, unless someone already has a comparison photo.
I would really appreciate that, many thanks!!
They are a bit bigger than the GW ones unfortunately, but I'd have thought the Hill Dwarves could still serve in the same army, maybe in different units though. If you pop me an email through the website, I can pop some samples in the post?

Sorry for the dreadful photo - the Pendraken figures I've got are all undercoated black.

The GW ones are the painted ones - they are artillery crew figures. I don't know which dwarves are which now - but hopefully Luddite's photos will help tell which are which. Some match very well - especially the one holding the torch aloft. Quite a few match height wise, but are a bit heftier (probably not a problem, they are dwarves after all).
The one with the pickelhube style helmet, and the archer, and both bulkier and taller, and don't really match too well.
just wanted to say that I got my samples through today, and I'm seriously impressed, they are a little bigger than their equivalents from GW and Eureka, but having played around mocking them up on bases, I think 8 models on a warmaster base looks great, and if you have the same number of models per base, the size difference becomes very difficult to spot
I took some comparison pics with other models from my collection:
(L-R: Copplestone, Eureka, Eureka, Pendraken, Pendraken, Irregular, Irregular, GW, GW)

I think the pendraken models compare very favourably with the others I have and I will definitely be including a contingent!!
one final question, is the dwarf cannon the one used in this army? 'cuz I really like it.....

Its not the dwarf cannon I have. mine are more naval cannon looking, i.e. mounted on a low chassis with 4 small wheels.

Hmmm, not sure which one you've got there?
Isn't that the mountain gun?
Glad those are the regular dwarf cannons! Will be filling my boots with pendraken minis on payday! Really happy with the minis and service recieved, really want to support the company :)
What more can be said really? Pendraken treated me like a valued customer and encouraged me to spend with them, exactly opposite to what GW does..... Funny that eh?
Funny? Not really, Pendraken is not a faceless entity run by bean-counters, its a genuine family business, run by people you've met and chatted to at shows.
