Title: Something a little bit unexpected...Dux Bellorum: A Very British Civil War
Post by: Luddite on 07 June 2013, 07:57:53 PM
 :D

After a long and unsuccessful search for a set of rules we liked for our AVBCW games, i tried something a little bit unexpected...Dux Bellorum!

So far they're working better than anything else we've tried...

Certainly a different use for DB Luddite. Glad it worked for you and it does look interesting. Craig and I are off to play some Chain of Command games today (even though the weather is glorious :() which I think will be very useful for a whole host of periods with slight tweaks. BKC is still my ruleset of choice for the AVBCW period, but then we tend to play larger scale games for this.

Yes - very nice stuff. You should differentiate between carriers a bit more - Universal is about 1940, prior to that all sorts of models. As I'm in the process of moving (so Leon cant find me for the money I owe him  :D) I cant go into much detail but I'd reckon on 4 types - Scout/Bren with LMG and ATR, 1+2 crew, the cavalry with either LMG or ATR, and 2 Crew + 8 passengers in an unarmoured rear space, plus a vast number of 1 off's with a Vickers in the front compartment.
