Title: Just thought I'd share this
Post by: OldenBUA on 03 June 2013, 06:11:27 PM
Just in case you thought something was missing, I bring this information from a Facebook friend:

QuoteThe German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has eliminated the longest German word from their laws and therefore from the German dictionary.

With 63 letter, Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz had no real competition. It meant: law on the committee to regulate beef labeling.

The first place is now held, with a meagre 36 letters, by Kraftfahrzeughaftpflichtversicherung (motor vehicle liability insurance).

This is how culture is being destroyed all around us, a sad day not for Germany but for us all.

:D

Oh, and drinks are on me!

Good post to get promoted on. Surely this word can be used elsewhere? Beef stock association, anti-bse inspectorate?
