Title: Medical Check up
Post by: Ferb on 23 May 2013, 10:44:18 AM
During my last medical check up, my doctor asked me about my physical activity level. I described a typical day this way:

"Yesterday afternoon, I took a five-hour walk of about seven miles through some pretty rough terrain. I waded along the edge of a lake. I pushed my way through brambles. I got sand in my shoes, eyes and hair. I avoided standing on a snake. I climbed several rocky hills. I took a few 'leaks' behind some big trees. The mental stress of it all left me shattered. At the end of it all I drank eight beers."

Inspired by the story, the doctor said, "You must be one hell of an outdoors man!"

"No," I replied. "I'm just a shitty golfer."

Each to their own gents...

I happen to find the game of golf stimulating both in time spent searching for a small cylindrical object amongst grassy knolls and woodland areas and in terms of money spent on clothing that only blind people would wear...

Other than that golf is a great walk in the countryside wasted.

And that's from a golf fan!

I must say I've been tempted by the local driving-range where you can take out your frustrations on a whole bucketful of hard white spheres - but as for actually hitting anything......  =) =) =)

When I hit a ball, I want someone else to go get it - which is why I play cricket  :D

And have dogs. And children.

Who said anything about fetching them? There's a bloke in an armoured tractor out there towing a giant rake that gathers them all in.  :)

The thing I used to enjoy most about driving ranges, was aiming at the 100 yard markers with a 1 iron (very low trajectory) and trying to drill the ball through the wood. :d :d :d

Quotea small cylindrical object
Yeah, I think I see your problem...

Have you tried a spherical object instead?
