Title: Wish lists
Post by: fsn on 17 May 2013, 07:50:46 AM
Oi been finking! (people who know me take this as an amber alert.)

If, right, if on the website thingy, there was a "wish list" like them Amazon fellows have then people like me could add things to our wish list and possibly indicate a projected quantity buy. This, I would find very happy making, but realise that the blokes what are stuck with a nosy co-pilot may find this a bit difficult.

Anyway, could the clever Pendraken Web-Fairy cull that list as a general view of what's likely to be ordered in the near future?

Just thinking.

Leon does publish a league table of "most requested" items from time to time. And there's nothing to stop you posting your own individual wish-list whenever you feel the need. Those of us who agree with whatever you propose will happily climb on the bandwagon, and sometimes something even gets done!  :-bd

Otherwise, if there's a particular figure/figures you particularly need or covet, have a word with Techno (Phil) who will, if it's at all possible, do the job for you.

I wasn't thinking of wish lists for new figures. I was thinking of an intention/hope/desire to purchase.

For example if Pendraken release two new codes say a Centurion tank and an Aztec princess. We (the moonstruck calves who suck at the Pendraken teat) see these new codes and say "I really must get me some of those Centurions!" and so add them to our wish list until Pendraken Ordering Day. We (the German housewife to the Pendraken plumber) get reminders of what we want to buy, and Pendraken get to see that Centurions are very, very desirable, but nobody likes Aztecs, so can pre-cast a number of Centurions to be able to supply us within days of the order being placed.

Now I do realise that means the Pendraken has to find time to do this extra casting, but I would find it a useful feature, and I think any intelligence on potential customer future purchases could be useful to the casting crew.

Probably stupid, I know. :-[

If Phil is affordable (his skills I mean) I would consider a Merkava IV and modern Israelis / Syrians / Iraqis / Iranians.....

Minifigs do a Merkava III, I just dont like putting Minifigs tanks together. But yeah I'm also waiting for Dave and Leon to get with the program and produce T90s, Merkavas, BMPs, etc etc etc....................

Gentlemen,

My point was not a plea for additional lines, but for an additional feature on the web site the we (the smokers of the Pendraken poppy) could use to plan our purchasing, and would be a boon for both purchasers and suppliers.

Just imagine. You spend a few days putting together your order on your wish list, and as you press "send" you get an e-mail saying "we knew you were going to do that. They're on the way. In fact, Leon's popping them round now."

Then your doorbell rings, music swells and the Pendraken magic begins anew.

Just for Roland who's Google-Fu seems a little weak this weekend

Minifigs Merkava III

Yeah I know they tout their lines as 12mm but side by side with Pendraken they are identical in height.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm disappearing down into Techno towers' underground shelter.
Someone mail me when the missiles have stopped flying.

Mind you....I do have something just finished (at last) that will just possibly pacify one of the 'Aztecophiles'.....for a little while.
Nothing to do with Aztecs......Think of Peter Pan and Tick-Tock, Tick Tock. (Hah....isn't that how you spell 'Tock' ?)

Cheers - Phil.

but nobody likes Aztecs,

FSN - are you trying to give FK a heart attack   :)

I think a wish list of things you want (that are already avaliable) is a brilliant idea.

Then Partners or children (Fathers day is comming) can go on the wish list see what you like.  Order it easilly not worrying if the figures have the correct hat etc ( as you have alreacy done that) and order you a nice present instead of Socks or a Coffee table book on views of Hadrians wall ( as its history?????) .

Stop pinching my lines.......

Least Aztecs would be marginally useful, unlike c18th Brits in strange headgear.....although one would need to do more than just Aztecs, it should be called "Mezzo American" and have Toltecs, Incas etc in it.

Sorry.

What I want is some Centurions. Tanks. Not Romans with the plume on the wrong way.

See, it's just not very catchy.

The Wish List idea is interesting, but we'd have to work out how best to go about it.  The website will currently store what you add to the Basket, so you can fill it and return again at a later date to Checkout, so you could always fill it for your family to pay for?  Having some kind of monitor on every Basket would be tricky, as it would recognise every Basket in the system, whether people had 'Wish List'ed the items or not, and potentially we'd have all sorts of stuff coming through, even though some of it may never have been intended for purchase?

Title: Re: Wish lists
Post by: fsn on 20 May 2013, 06:28:20 PM
It's a numbers game, and a tool built with experience. The idea is for projected/intended purchases rather than immediate shopping basket purchases.

For me it would help in planning my purchases, and Pendraken should be able to get an idea of overall purchase intentions.

For example, You WHEN you release the Centurion, 27 people add 83 Centurions to their wish list. Within a month, 14 people buy 39 Centurions. Next you release a T62. 35 people add 101 T62s. You know that then hit rate for a Centurion was about 50%, and so you could expect about 17-18 people to buy 50 T62s in the next month.

Like I say, it's a long game, but could be a predictor of sales volumes.

I think it would require a lot of coding work from Matt, so we'd have to put something like that at the end of the queue, as there's a lot of things we need doing on the website first.

Just found something for my wish list. see 10 million views topic.
can i get one of them at the check out or even borrow one for a short while.
oh and Centurions, T55s, Btr50s and some 6 day war infantry all sides BUT the 10 million views topic just keeps me wishing.

The main problem with wish-lists, and mine in particular, is that they change from day-to-day. Any wish list I devised would be obsolete by the time I could afford to pay for the figures.  :(

Hi Martin.

Give me a bell and I'll try and go through it with you.......If this doesn't work !!

Get into your photobucket a/c.......find your way to your settings page..
Then check Easy linking mode.....Pretty sure that's the one I 'ticked' when I was having problems.

If that doesn't help...Like I say...give me a call, and we can compare what I've got checked on my settings page compared to yours. ;)
Cheers - Phil.

If you use the Amazon wish list, you can add items from any site.
