Title: Pendraken - who are you?
Post by: fsn on 04 May 2013, 05:18:11 PM
As a relatively new recruit, I'm intrigued about the Pendraken set up. (OK I'm trying to work out if I can get all my goodies before you all retire.)

Without being too personal, could you give us a thumbnail sketch on who does what and why? Team photo? I may have missed this on the forum, and if so, I apologise

Who is the financial brains, who the master modeller, who is the Enforcer, who holds the Grimoire of Truth and who is there to look pretty?

Actually, I think after the Centurion, you need to do a personality pack - Lords of Pendraken.

There's a few of us knocking about now, more than there used to be!

The business was started in 1992 by Dave and Lynne, my parents.  They slowly built the business up, and in 2009 I took a more involved role and started to look after the day-to-day running of it.  Dave still works full-time as a college lecturer, so he doesn't have the spare hours to keep on top of everything.  So, at the moment there is:-

Dave - Does all of our moulding, and builds our casting and vulcanising machines.  Casts most of the 20th C. ranges and decides which new ranges we're doing.
Lynne - Looks after the bills, and keeps telling us we need to sell more!  Packages the orders and does the Post Office run.
Leon - Looks after the emails, orders and paperwork side of things, website and Forum updates, new releases, etc.  I also cast Historicals and Fantasy/Sci-Fi.  Other random odd jobs as they come up, including pointing Dave in the right direction for which new ranges we're doing...!   :D
Adele - My better half, who helps out with a variety of jobs, from packaging stock and orders, ordering stationary, getting gas, running to Staples for flag printing.
Stuart - Stuart was our first part-time caster, starting in 2010, and casts Historical stuff for us.  He is currently doing a university course, and is also a new dad, so he's a pretty busy guy!  He can be found on the Forum as 'Gandalf'.
Alan - Alan started with us part-time at the start of 2012, and casts Historical stuff.  He also looks after a lot of our contract casting work.  He has his own little business as well, Hoka Hey Wargaming (http://www.hokaheywargaming.co.uk/)  He can be found on the Forum as 'adr'
Matt - Our webguy, who built both the Pendraken and Minibits websites and keeps the Forum ticking over behind the scenes.  He's working darn sarf in Londinium now, so he doesn't get chance to pop by the Forum as much as he used to.

As well as that gang of delinquents, there's a team of 5-7 sculptors as well knocking about, some of whom have been known to frequent the Forum occasionally!

There's also the folks who help us at the shows, or with research for ranges, and everyone who helps us out on the Forum, etc.

That's more people than I thought there was actually, a lot of people involved in the Pendraken machine!

So - Financial brains = Lynne, Master modellers = Dave & Stuart & Alan, Enforcer=Adele, holder of the Grimoire of Truth=Matt so Leon must be the pretty one.

Thank you.

Here is a more accurate (or possibly tongue in cheek) reply. I have also included a few of the forum with some True??? observations!

Please note:- No Forum members were hurt in this production (well I hope you all see the funny side)

Dave -  The tall dark one- Allowed to think he is the boss Occasionally seen on the stand at shows - more often away from stand socialising getting coffee - sorry networking.
Lynne - THE REAL BOSS - SHMBO by both Dave and Leon
Leon -  Runs Minibits, Work-a-holic Vampire . Looks like a dwarf next to Dave.( sorry that slipped in ;D) posts on forum and answers emails at times when  the sane world is asleep.
Adele - Mrs Leon. THE REAL BOSS of Minibits  SWMBO by Leon.  MUST be kept in dark about Totty Thread, or we are ALL in BIG TROUBLE  :D
Stuart - Minion 1 Kept in chains at Pendraken HQ until required to cast figures. Occasionally allowed on the Forum as 'Gandalf'.
Alan - Minion 2 Kept in chains at Pendraken HQ until required to cast figures Occasionally allowed on the Forum as  'adr'
Matt - Pendraken  webguy, Mythical being who does arcane things to keep the website running.
Team of 5-7 sculptors, can be recognised by the specks of hard green putty on all thier clothses and the number of cuts on their finghers where they have slipped with a scalpel. They have been known to frequent the Forum occasionally!

Sebigboss-  The forums answer to Henning Wenn

According to my research the person (I assume you mean him) is spelled "Wehn" and considers himself sort of a "humour ambassador" to London.

I would challenge such observation by the fact that I (as a German) do not have any sense of humour I am aware of.  8)

I resemble that. Must be part German as I have no sense of humour either....

I've always regarded myself more as Dad's Army's Reverend Timothy Farthing - "an ineffectual, rather huffy man who lacks the patience to be a particularly good pastor. He likes a drink, sometimes overindulging according to the Verger. His passion is bell-ringing - not something he can practice while there's a war on."

Apart from the bell-ringing bit. I do wargaming instead.

But thank you for the halo.  :D

Hate to blow this BUT there is fotographic evidence that you were not to be seen when I picked up my order at Carronade. Or did you try your very own version of Predator Cloaaking Device :D If so I am ordering the first 10mm version of it, usual price per pack assumed.  ;D
