Hi,
Just a quick heads up for any one who uses the GW Specialist games site to get the Warmaster fantasy rules and support etc
(Or Blood etc )
Just got this from someone who knows someone etc:-
...."On a related note though, GW have sold off all their specialised metal casting gear and are producing no more metal.
A side effect is that Specialist Games are being retired altogether, as are the collectors mini's.
So if there is anything anyone wants to buy, or wants to download from the SG section, do it whilst you still can. When it's gone it's gone for good."
Hi Leon, it seems GW are droping some references of metal, including warmaster blisters. As it makes a gap of 10mm figures for some armies, in my opinion, could be good for you if you complete the fantasy catalogue pics of ratmen, lizardmen and tribal lizardmen because the next monts it will increase the people searching for proxis for some armies. For the point of view of people who are not regular buyers of pendraken is not the same making an order with "blind figures" to making it seeing what they order.
Only trying to help, just my point of view.
regards
Hmm? Hadn't thought when I posted but I wonder who bought the casts?
Jason.
The casts? do you mean GW moulds and master figures?
Have you seen the ending of Raiders of the Lost Ark?.... :'(

Now ,seriously, I don't mind if they put the masters and moulds to oblivion, but I PRAY they do not destroy them. I read in one forum a guy that worked for GW and one of his first tasks was destroying some GW old West range of figures moulds... can you believe it? Don't use them anymore, but don't destroy them. It is a crime against art, craft and passion for models
From experience with GW I would generally say: Guilty as charged. 8)
In my time there I DID hear of old master moulds being 'chopped' into oblivion.
I believe that to have been true.....Though I was never a witness to it.
Production moulds, having a relatively limited life, would certainly have been destroyed.
Many master figures ('greens') tended to get converted at least a couple of times, so there wouldn't be a copy of every single green.
For all I know.....Master metal figures may have been kept.....You can always make more production moulds with those.
In the end it's probably down to something as simple as storage room.....Or losing the records of what is on a particular master mould.....
With the number of moulds that could exist by now, if every single one had been kept, you probably would end up with a warehouse the size of the one featured in 'Raiders'.
Sad, but probably true.
Cheers - Phil.
