As a newbie to the forum I was going to add this to an old topic on substitutes for British cavalry in the Sudan but was advised to start a new topic. In the earlier posts the WW1 Imperial cavalry from the Middle East range were mooted as a possibility. While the helmets would be fine for the late 1890s I think they'd be out of place in the earlier period which is where my army is. Or am I wrong? I can't find anything that resembles prints and photographs of the early period apart from the mounted officers with drawn swords from the Boer War period. They do not have carbines but would have to do unless anyone can offer a better suggestion. Many thanks

Can you post some pictures or links of what you are looking for? It will help people recognise figures from other ranges that might be close enough.
ZC2 Colonial Zulu Wars Cavalry, Natal/Durban, mounted?
This gives some idea, I hope.
Thank you both for your interest and your replies. Luddite, do the ZC2 you suggest wear pith helmets? If so, they may be what I need.

D'oh. I should have looked at the online catalogue. They do indeed wear pith helmets and look a better fit than most others suggested. Many thanks for pointing them out.

No worries old boy.
Good luck against them Fuzzy Wuzzies. Rumour has it that they don't like it up 'em. ;)
