I received today a small order from Total Battle
http://www.totalbattleminiatures.com/ They just introduced a new 10mm range of buildings: 10mm Black Powder Europe -
I bought Hamlet set 2 -which I felt was most appropriate for the current ECW interest. Three buildings and a base for £22.00 and currently post free on orders over £20.00.
Unfortunately they won't be at Salute - too expensive! but the photographs on the website are good.
I've bought their 6mm buildings in the past - they are excellent, I was a little worried that the 10mm buildings were a little caricature in style but the three buildings I have are OK.
The buildings are a cream coloured resin - they recommend a white primer (after washing) and building up the colour in a series of washes. - the base ' described as a flexible tile is a flexible rubber - recommendation - paint only with acrylics or emulsion paint as a spay primer may flake off.
Certainly worth a look
Best regards
Kelvin
I'm waiting for an order from them, that I placed at the weekend, so its good to know you like your buildings.
I'm interested in them, as their buildings have a reduced footprint, but keep the heights - so a bit like using 6mm buildings for with 10mm, but without the problem of tiny doors.
They certainly look good. I find the prices a bit steep - or is it just me?
I've got their 10mm dark age buildings and am really pleased with them.
Price-wise they seemed OK. I got them from Maelstrom Games before it went into receivership with quite a good discount. :)
Great model, but word of warning. Wash them carefully before painting, paint can get flaky when dried- or use an undercoat of pva/paint mix - especially 'flat' pieces.
I use some of their 6mm for Italian Wars renaissance; very juicy fruit.
I must admit I do prefer the use of 6mm buildings with 10mm figures. Am currently wish listing their walled town and the Italian hill town.
I wish someone would make an ornate renaissance or baroque fountain for the piazza, don't you? Something with caryatids, rearing horses, gods and centaurs.....
I did manage to get a simple fountain and trough and a slightly more ornate wayside calvary in 6mm from an Italian company. Can't remember the company's name but it's run by Luigi Reccher, Via E.F. Di Savoia 19, Vicenza, 36100, Italy.
