Title: LVTP colours?
Post by: Dave on 12 April 2013, 08:28:53 PM
I'm painting up one of the new LVTP models at the moment.  I've done a base colour of Russian Green (VAL894), but what do you think would be best for highlighting/drybrushing over the top?

Also, what colour for the tracks?

I'd lighten your Russian Green by adding an off-white (Bleached Bone / Iraqi Sand) at about 50:50 ratio & use that, Dave; then I'd give it an ink wash & re-highlight (featherlight drybrush)

Tracks - I'd do them black, drybrush metallic (Chainmail / Boltgun Metal) or just grey - and then weather the whole thing so they're muddy anyway  ;) :D 8)

Hi Dave,

Not painted vehicles in years but looking at the Pendraken Vallejo, colours I would highlight LVTP's in these colours for the following theatres......

Desert  835 salmon rose ( sounds crazy but pink highlights do work for desert vehicles if applied only on edges)
European 891 Intermediate green (supposing you're gaming NW Euorpe (spring/summer/autumn)
Asiatic 827 Lime green - can't go wrong.

May help, may not, but worth a kick.

Cheers

Ry

Hi Dave

Try Russian Uniform Green(Val 924) as a heavy highlight then a light drybrush with white mixed with 924, tracks rust colour with gunmetal highlight

Hope this helps
