Title: favourite piccie in a military museum/handling military equipment
Post by: petercooman on 06 April 2013, 07:28:55 PM
So, we all do it, go to military museums to look at the uniforms/tanks/planes/weapns/books in the shop.

But we all have taken our share of pics manning these contraptions, or even real time piccies from chaps who were in the service. Just as a bit of fun, show me your best one!!

As i am asking it only feels fair to upload myself:

Acting like i'm manning an AAgun in the atlantic wall open air museum in Raversijde, Belgium: (look at how young i was, taken at the age of 16!)

No it isn't, and fun to run around. I think they have an english tour too. It's with one of those electronic guides. Something shaped like a huge cellphone that contains a speaker giving all the info.

Ben there twice now, never gets boring!

Some more piccies!

This is my wife, Jen, stood on something at a museum in Copenhagen. We're not sure, but it appeared to be a huge set of weighing scales. The room was full of artillery pieces (from cannons to what I think was a Honest John rocket), so we guess it was for weighing cannons :o

I'm afraid that's the only photo I've got that comes close to what was asked for 8)

This is me driving a modified FV432 somewhere in the heart of Leicestershire last summer.

Note the consternation on the instructor's face as we negotiate a huge vat of porage.

I've pieced it together from a few photos: "RESTAURERET". According to Google Translate, that means "RESTORED".
