Title: Krupp 6pdr - Chile 1879
Post by: nikharwood on 06 April 2013, 01:27:44 PM
With limited internet access, I'm really struggling to find pics of Krupp 6pdrs as used by Chile in the South American Pacific War...everything else in the army is painted & I just need to do these...anyone got an idea of colour of barrel & furniture etc?

Sorry Nik - search produced zero results. Blind guess but as Chile seems to follow German tradition for its army - same colour as German ones of the period?

Could this be of any use?

Will go and do some more searches and get back if I find anything conclusive.

Looks a sort of light buff/beige colour for the woodwork, with the metalwork being, well, metallic.

Here's the pic Nik, if you still can't see it I'll second Mollinary's description of buff/weathered beige with something like gunmetal black on the wheel rims etc..

Ryan is spot on with the gunmetal - sort of- thingy - like colour, for both the barrel and the various bits on the carriage.
