Great looking table. 8)
One question: why does the road bend like that? Usually the bend is associated with a geographical feature like a hill or swamp. :-\
That buddy would'nt be Richard would it, lucky old yank.
@ mad lemmey, no idea :-\, just how I set it up
@ GordonY yes it would, you could join us if you wish

Probably the field-system, Lemmey. If you go out into the wilds of Essex you get long straight roads with an "S" bend in the middle for no apparent reason. I always thought it was to avoid the farmer's prize pig.... :D

Perfectly legitimate terrain choice then! ;D
Looks like fun
Good stuff - looking forward to seeing this one fought out...
heres the game write up and it will be rolling over to another day
Battle for Feckintown
At the start of the game the US gained the initiative and steadily moved forward towards the village, their first artillery barrage took out the Germans 75mm IG occupying the village. The US then failed their next command roll, so their mortars failed to fire. The Germans now had their turn and a Nebelwerfer attack was ordered on the farmhouse and surrounding area, this attack takes out a US Sherman, M3 half track, Truck and suppresses the infantry in the farm buildings. The Germans also failed their next command roll.
Meanwhile back at the ranch the US commander artillery request fails, his mortars cause a single hit on a German infantry unit on the the east side of the village and suppresses it. The Germans retaliate with another Nebelwerfer attack on the farmhouse and suppresses the US HQ and destroys another M3 half track. On the east side of the village a US recon unit is spotted and fired upon by German infantry and subsequently suppressed. The Germans PAK 40 on the eastern hill fires and suppresses another US M3 half track coming down the road, the troops inside bail out and are suppressed. Also on the west side of the village a StuG 3G fires on a M4 E8 near the western hill and causes one hit and suppresses the tank.
The US continues to move forward, their mortars fire successfully and suppress two German infantry units on the eastern side of the village, the mortars fire again and miss. The US mortars fire again and cause another 3 hits on the German infantry on the eastern side of the village. The US suffers a command blunder and has a reduced CV next turn. The Panther near the western hill spots the M4 E8 fires and causes a single hit and suppresses the M4 E8. The German Nebelwerfers fire again on the US forces approaching the eastern side of the village and the fire deviates towards the Germans position this fire takes out the US recon unit and a M3 half track plus two of its own infantry units.
On the western side of the village the Panther and StuG 3G fire upon the M4 E8 and causes 2 hits on it and fail to suppress the tank. Two Sherman's approaching the eastern side of the village fire on the J Pz IV coming down the road this causes one hit and suppresses the tank. More US artillery fire on the western side of the village takes out an infantry unit and suppresses the StuG 3G. More Sherman's now arrive on the eastern side of the village and fire upon the J Pz IV and knock it out. The US mortars fire on the PAK 40 on the eastern hill and cause a 3 hits. The Nebelwerfers fire yet again and cause more damage to the US forces on the eastern side of the village taking out a truck, .30 cal Mg and infantry unit and suppresses the nearby US HQ. More US artillery fire causes more hits on the German infantry around the village. The Sherman's on the eastern side of the village now turn their attention to the PAK 40 and StuG IV and again knock both out.
The German Panther and StuG 3G arrive back on the eastern side of the village they fire and knock out two Sherman's, suppressing three other Sherman's. More US artillery starts to rain down on the unfortunate Germans in the village the casualty's are high they lose two infantry units, a truck, Mg42, StuG 3G, Pz 38t Flak. On the western side its not much better the Germans lose two more trucks. The Germans final Nebelwerfer attack of the day causes more US casualties they destroy two infantry units, two Sherman's, and HQ and suppress the US Co.
Losses for the 1st day are -:
German Losses US Losses
5 trucks HQ
StuG IV 4 Half tracks
Jagd. Pz IV 2 trucks
Pz 38t flak M8 Scout Car
PAK 40 3 Sherman 75's

Nice report :D
Good stuff - you did alright with your Nebelwerfers then; mine seem to have the fire discipline of a drunk camel.
Thanks guys :)
learned the use of Nebelwerfers from the master, Gordony :-bd, had not too bad dice rolls this time usually they can be quite bad >:(
my buddy as usual has very good dice rolls, even managed to get a command roll down to 4 :o, jammy bugger
Great so far 8) and looking forward to the conclusion. :)
Battle of Feckin Town Day 2
The Americans win the initiative at the start of the day. The American artillery opens up and takes out two German infantry units on the west side of town, the Americans then start to re deploy their forces.
German Nebelwerfers open up and totally miss their target. The Panther arrives back on the east side of town and knocks out two Sherman's, the German infantry close assault another Sherman and knock it out. The Americans have now lost all their armour on the east side of town. The Germans now concentrate in the town, the Americans start to fall back. The German Nebelwerfers open up again and again miss their target. The Germans then fail their command roll.
The Americans then proceed to move their forces down the west side of town, the American artillery opens up again and takes out two trucks and suppresses the Nebelwerfers on the west side of town. The American artillery is now starting to seriously damage the German forces. The Americans fail a command roll. The Germans roll and get a double one [one of three double ones for the Germans in the game], not good for the Americans, the Panther has since moved to the west of town and knocks out another Sherman, the German mortars fire and knock out a American half track the infantry bail out and get suppressed.
The Germans fail their next command roll. The Americans artillery opens up again and destroys the Nebelwerfers and suppresses a nearby mortar and inflicts a hit on an mg42 nest. Another two shots of American artillery and the Germans lose the Panther and more trucks, a mortar gets suppressed. The German CO receives three hits. The German mortars fire and suppress more American infantry. The Americans are now falling back they have lost all their armour and most of their vehicles and cannot take the town. A near victory for the Germans. The American artillery proved very effective during the game, my buddy's very good die rolls also helped. The German Panther certainly proved very effective for the Germans at killing Sherman's.
Total losses for the Germans and Americans are -:
US Losses
8 Sherman's, 6 Half tracks, 1 M4 Mortar Half track, 3 infantry units, 1 .30cal mg, 1 HQ, 2 trucks, 1 M8 scout car.
German Losses
9 trucks, 1 J.Pz IV, 2 Stugs, 1 Pz 38T, 1 Panther, 6 infantry units, 2 Nebelwerfers, 2 Mg 42's, 1 Mortar, 1 PAK 40, 1 75mm IG.
All in all a very good game with some hairy moments for both sides.

What about the time they single-handedly wiped out an entire para battalion in one go?

That's the exception that proves the rule ;) ;D
