Though, like you say..probably not something to try, unless you're very competent with electronics.
But yes !....Very satisfying to make something yourself.
There's no danger of the wooden frame getting hot enough to char if it's used for long periods is there ? :-\

Shouldn't be a problem - the only bit that gets hot is the toaster element, and the trigger on the handle is a dead-man-switch, so as soon as I let it go it turns off. :)

I'm with Techno. Not something you want to try unless you have at least some training as an electrician. If you can't afford to buy one do what I do - borrow your mate's!  ;)
