Title: LoA horse - number of belts
Post by: maciek on 29 March 2013, 07:45:59 PM
I started a thread on TMP.

Clibinarium joined in, than I can ask here:
Do you plan to make horse soldiers with one belt for carabine and waistbelt with attached scabbard.

Below some pictures showing such cavalrymen.

I was a bit disappointed that thread didn't get a better response on TMP.

Yes I'll convert the first cavalry packs once I get the greens back, when that will be I don't know. I am thinking seriously about doing separate packs for the Maison du Roi troops, but again can't give any timescales.

Many thanks for the reply.
For Maison du Roi Musketeers and Grenadiers are obvious choice to modell as the rest weren't different to line cavalry AFAIK.

The TMP thread died quickly because i'ts very diffcult matter.
The sources are scarce. I tried to find out which nations used which pattern but without succes.
I don't even know why English horse is depicted with crossbelts. Maybe because they retained them in SYW.
