A Zulu walking through the jungle comes across a pygmy standing over a dead lion.
"Did you kill that lion?" asks the Zulu.
"Yeah, I beat it to death with my club," the pygmy replies.
"You must have a big club," says the Zulu.
"Aye, there's about thirty of us."
Jungle? In Natal?

Jungle? In Natal?
Isn't a jungle a dense forest in a hot climate?
Thought it was funny myself - I'll get my coat.
maybe he walked a long way...
Watch the Zulu movies again. The landscape is accurate enough.
(I agree; it is funny.)
I liked it ! :) ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil
It's a joke, and it's good so no point in pointing out the point is invalid.
Wait.... what =P~
Pygmies aren't native to Natal, so the Zulu must have walked a fair way. (No, this is getting silly) ;)
Well...
One of my favourite jokes involves a bear and a rabbit talking to each other in a sunny glade after Winter.
Nobody's ever pointed out that neither of these animals can actually talk ! :P
(And no....There's no point in 'plonking' it down...It's rather a visual joke.) ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil.

Glad you liked it :) ....................but.......the joke is actually set in burma (the two were working as holiday reps for their respective peoples) ;)
Never been to Natal but have read many accounts of the nature of the vegetation around port natal at the time of Farewell/Fynn, lush, dense vegetation and primodial forest running close to the shore seems to be the common description.
Inland, where the films are shot is I agree, completely different but again, what does it matter?, the joke's set in Burma, or was it Brazil? :P
Herts, pygmies are thought to have inhabited natal long before the zulu (Nguni) and Europeans ever set eyes on it - assumed to be around the mid/late 15th century in both cases.
Cheers, always good to raise a chuckle and follow it up with assorted bar furniture skimming by my head. :-bd
Hmmm. I shall be checking this with several Burmese colleagues next semester.
