Title: The Continental Wars Society
Post by: Chad on 02 March 2013, 09:18:52 AM
Don't know if any forum members are members of the society but it's well worth joining.  :-bd

For £20 you can get 1 year subscription (£6), a CD with issues 1-69 as pdfs (£6) and 8 recent back issues (£1 each if all still available).

Attached is the contents list for the CD which will give an idea of the range of topics covered.

Chad,

I endorse this with bells on!   The CD at 6 pounds is a steal, containing as it does vast amounts of information on the Austrian Army of 1866 by Stuart Sutherland.  With the stalling of the publication of his book on this subject, this is the best you'll get.

The CD is indeed a steal at the price.

The following are some of the articles in the available back copies, which appear to be 2012 issues:

The Swiepwald uncovered (#96)
The Victorious Prussians (#95)
The Fight at Nogaredo 25 July 1866 (#95)
Battlefields & Battles (#94) - Koniggratz
The Siege of Widdin 1877-78 Part 2 (#93)
Events Leading up to the Battle of Koniggratz (#92)
Cavalry in Hungary 1848-49 (#92)
The Siege of Widdin 1877-78 Part 1 (#92)
Uniforms of French Cuirassiers 1870 (#91)
Visit to the Battlefield at Grivitsa 1877 (#90)

Chad,

You don't give any contact details and I can't seem to find a web-site.  :(

Holy thread resurrection.

Is the CWS still going? I haven't had a renewal for the Foreign Correspondent this year and I have emailed Ralph but no reply. I hope everything is all right.

Best
Ben

My membership also seems to have stalled.
