Title: Evening all
Post by: Nickyc on 25 February 2013, 09:21:42 PM
Hello all I'm Nick, new to the forums but a slowly ageing wargamer  ;). I have spent many years gaming at larger scales but have always fancied trying the ACW at 10mm giving me the choice of recreating larger scale battles. On that subject I have mainly used f&f for rules in other scales, what would you say is the best for 10mm in that period.

All the best

Nick

Hi Nick, welcome to the Forum!  The other guys will have a better idea on the rules, so I'll let them chime in on those.

Hi Nick, and a very warm welcome.
Don't worry about slowly aging...It's happening all too fast for some of us here. ;)
Cheers - Phil.

Peter Pig's Civil War Battles is a cracking ruleset with loads of uncertainty built in, once had a game where the Union defenders due to crappy rolling were coming onto the table in such a piecemeal fashion that the brave gennelmen of the sawth were able to butcher them almost without sustaining any casulties. On the other hand I've seen games lost because of the delays caused just getting brigades over fences and through cornfields, that and the countdown mechanism that stops the game creates a few nail biting moments, try it you'll love it.

Hi Nick. Wecome to the nuthouse.

Slowly ageing is the way to do it. Avoid going white overnight, is my advice.  :D

Hello Nick
welcome to the forum I am also in the process of painting ACW figures, as well as my world war two stuff.  As for rules I'm a real fan of black powder, also at some point in the future warlord intend releasing a ACW supplement.

Take care

Andy

Hi Nick
Welcome, It's good to have another ACW guy aboard. For rules, I'm hoping to give "A Union So Tested" a try soon. http://deepfriedhappymice.com/html/rd_a_union_so_tested.html  (http://deepfriedhappymice.com/html/rd_a_union_so_tested.html) If all goes well, I will be doing part of the Battle of Chancellorsville in a few weeks.

Can somebody send me a link to the ACWarmaster rules? I would be interested in giving them a try in the future.

Bryan
