Lovely work Andreas. Can you explain to me how you realize your bases? I notice that you do not use static grass.

Well strictly speaking its likely to be just his hair as common soldiers wore their natural hair tied up. It would often be powdered which would give it an appearance similar to a wig, however since these guys are in campaign dress you could paint them in natural hair colours if you wish, since hair powdering was probably on of the first things to lapse on campaign.

Or that guy could just be prematurely grey...

Thanks Thanks Thanks for all comments !  :)

@BH: i use this http://www.fredericus-rex.de/Green-Line-scenery/Tufts-of-grass/Tufts-of-grass-short-Green-line.html for basing and some other tuft from army painters.....thats all

To hair.......I have not really thought about it. So thanks to clibinarium for information, i will correct it.  :)

Little information for AWI interested people like me.

120 Plates  !!! Its so helpfull for painting AWI .
I think its a must have .

I really love this picture. It is so unlike, the stereotype of the advantages of small scale figures, which is the mass look. This is a small scale diorama, with individuality in each of the four figures on the base. The full unit will look fabulous. This is raising 10mm painting to a new level.

Bravo!!!!

Didn't want to comment on any painting while the competition was on, in case they ended up in it. These are beautiful.

Cheers for that Andreas, i normally paint 6mm but have really enjoyed doing these and intend to do more so will add units on here as i go. Also your 6mm stuff is amazing, i have just had to re do a lot of broken bayonets on some baccus french so can imagine how long it took you to do yours, excellent job though so worth the effort.

I'm totally with Clibby on this !
And it's been damn hard not to praise things as they've been posted recently !
There's a surfeit of superlatives waiting to be plonked down at the moment.  ;)

Cheers - Phil.

I can understand you  ;)

"Lovely work Andreas.  This is outstanding painting.  Far better than my attempts.  If you carry on like this you will get on Trev Crook's list of talented painters.
This is not a good thing as he threatens to break you fingers for being a smartarse..."

so i paint always protected !

I suggest pliers, wire brush and an apron.Hell talk oh he will talk MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

"Smudgersmith, you're a piker!  ;) I'd go for the Car battery & the wrapping the nichrome wire (strip it out of the toaster if need be) around various very sensitive parts. Heh-Heh!"

"Ok, fiftheded, and you really are a witch, you know that?"

and much more threats

this is my painting life...... always in fear !  ;)

Wir spielen Maurice, Black Powder und irgendwann bestimmt auch mal British Grenadier, aber das erfordert wohl einiges an Einarbeitungszeit.

Ja?

I should really learn another language... :(  I did French and German at school, and wasn't too bad at the written side of it.  Speaking it was a whole different ballgame though!  Hats off to all the multilingual members!

That's a quite natural thing though..I've also forgotten almost all of my French..use it or lose it :'(
Nevertheless, if anyone wants to refresh their knowledge or get started with a whole new language, I can only recommend this little programme here:
http://ankisrs.net/
If you sign up at their homepage you can also download ready-made decks of flash-cards (spares you the typing work)..helped me a lot with Polish.
